Easy, it's been 4 games. Think we completely disagree on the definition of world class if you think being amazing at one competition is enough. No doubt he is quality and huge potential, but you have to show top class form for a season at least and be amongst the best in the world, or on that level to be labelled world class. His performances at the World Cup have been but that doesn't make him part of that group, not yet.
He is clearly in that bundle of world class players right now, lets not forget world class players can only be world class if they have the team around them and he has a team around them and he is dominating the world cup what does he have to do win the fecking cup to prove it to ye and i hope he does. its the biggest tournament on earth and he is showing up unlike Rooney and ronaldo(injured).

I'd sign De Jong for 8, 9 or 10 million! But no more!

Maybe it's just me but, has anyone else noticed the lack of balls and fight in our team in the last number of years? De Jong would bring that!

Perfect example was Nani getting done by Jamie "Aaaaaaaaaaalri maaaate la" Carragher, and Liverpool players standing over Nani taunting him, as our players backed away.....I miss the days when the likes of Keane, Butt, Stam, Bruce, Eric, Robbo etc would go apeshit at stuff like that

Completely agree. The Nani moment was horrible, I was just yelling out to the TV why isn't anyone helping him? There were a few moments with Young as well where he was just bullied and no one helped him at all. It was better last season with Fellaini and Rio (when that prick injured RVP and taunted him) but I think it needs to happen more. Sick of players from other trams trying ton intimidate our players when we're used to it being the other way around.

De Jong or Ale Song?
De Jong for me. Proper defensive midfielder. I remember a complaint from arsenal fans saying Song isn't positionally disciplined and would always go forward and leave gaps.

Yep, Fellaini standing up for Januzaj was nice to see. I miss Keano though....fits would have been flying.there

Ex-Man City aside but I think he is the type of signing we need. Someone in the middle with a bit of bite, who'll do all the dirty work and allow the better players focus on attacking.
no way..Vidal could do the same and do it better. when it comes to passing the ball de jong is a liability. we need someone who can get stuck in like herrera but share the playmaking workload with herrera, and de jong cant do that. If we want a cheap option Aranguiz from Chile/Udinese seems like an exceptional player as well. we should try and get him.

I'm sorry but after this can we add the Daily Mail to the banned list? Where they come up with these stories is beyond me.

What's wrong with the Daily Mail story? De Jong for £9m and Vidal for £30m+. Doesn't seem an unreasonable story to me.

Sick of people suggesting certain newspapers should be banned. Sift through the nonsense, and what has some substance.

Monaco will need a striker. Maybe Rooney will be sold for decent money :o
Don't really want to sell him, but it would solve some problems

Just on Strootman, I know he was the youngest ever Dutch captain or something, but was it van Gaal who made him captain?

Yes, he's on the team captains. The formation Holland usually play is pretty much built around Strootman, hence why Van Gaal has tinkered with it some much.

They got Berbatov in on loan to cover for Falcao injury and now they've signed him. He was arguably better for them than Falcao.

Vidal and Sanchez have been out the World Cup for 15 hours, surely they should be at Carrington right now?

When is Rodgers going to start fixing the defence?

Tony Barrett and James pearce both saying we're a three or four million pounds away from meeting Sevilla's asking price for Moreno. We're also apparently still interested in Lovren.

Muniain would be a brilliant signing, yes his progression has stalled but if Liverpool were to buy and Rodgers could get the best out of him he would be a brilliant purchase.
