Their interest in Kroos could be a great thing for us if we're looking for Vidal. Surely even they couldn't go for both like.
They seem to be chasing Kroos quite a bit. There's also Verratti who Ancelotti rates incredibly highly who they've been linked to as well.

Also I heard reports Ancelotti wants to keep Khedira but then again when do Madrid managers get a say in who they sign and sell with Perez around.

I thought Kroos was heading to Barca? Madrid have been linked with Pogba quite a bit and I don't see Juve selling them both. If we want Vidal, I reckon we have to move quickly, before they sell Khedira.

The worry is City would have the perfect chance to replace Toure.

City can only spend 49M net this transfer window. They've just bought Fernando for 12M. That means they are down to 37M. It's common knowledge that Pellegrini is prioritizing a centre back and goalkeeper (seeing as they sold Smellypantsinamillion). They are meant to be after Mangala for about 30M which is most of their remaining budget. If they sell Jovetic or Negredo, they are going to have to buy another striker to replace them.

If they sell Toure (which will be very tough considering his salary i.e. Extortionate), how much are they going to get for him? He's 31. 15M tops surely. Vidal is going to cost a minimum of 40M. It's going to take some very serious maneuvering from them to be able to do it. And even then, United can probably just bid a few million more to make the deal happen.

The wages thing is less of an issue too. They've got a ridiculously high payroll for their turnover and are under pressure for FFP anyway. They just added Bacary Sagna to that at something like 150K per week. Even if they sell Yaya, they're not going to be able to blow us out of the water financially. In fact I think the only club who can now are PSG, because they clearly don't give a flying feck about FFP.

Id rather have Vidal over Kroos anyways
As would everyone. Kroos is an excellent player and I'm a massive fan, but he just wouldn't fit the system anywhere near as well as Vidal.

Kroos is almost a direct replacement for Carrick in my eyes. I agree though, I'd prefer Vidal, but now we've got Herrera I'm not sure Vidal would fit 'more'.. hard to know without knowing how Van Gaal wants to play.

I don't think he's ready to play that role, he has drastically improved defensively, but I don't think he's capable of playing the #6 just yet.

Kroos cannot function in a double pivot with Herrera, if you want to go that route, you'd likely need to sell Mata & Kagawa and play a midfield 3 with Kroos as the furthest forward player and a defensive midfielder shielding him and Herrera. The biggest complaint on him from Bayern fans has been his defensive awareness and work rate.

Kroos was my dream signing but now we've signed Herrera I think a more a destroyer type of player is very much needed.

--Vidal---------
--------Herrera
Mata----------

That's how I'd love our spine to look like next season

If vidal was available theres no way we'd be able to beat the competition for him. Barca for one would be all over him

But Touré isn't going anywhere, he just wants a new improved contract.
I can still see them going for him especially if we do. Hell even Mourinho would be tempted to. We're talking about one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Doubt they'd have the money. Suarez will cost a bomb for them, they still need to sign some CB's as well.

Would they? They just signed Rakete and look set to blow £80m on Suarez.

okay good point.

I don't think we need an energetic midfielder like Vidal now that we've got Herrera.

We now need a more defensive minded midfielder, somebody like Carvalho, who intercepts/tackles, retains possession but also has a good passing range and can dictate the tempo of the game.

Is Carvalho good enough to dictate the tempo of a game though? Especially in the massive step up in quality that would be Sporting to United. Also, can his passing range be described as good? I haven't seen much of him but when I have, I have never seen him complete a pass of more than 10 yards. I am very skeptical of Carvalho but haven't seen enough to form an opinion worthy of any real merit.

I don't have any reservations at all about Vidal. Two box to box CM's who are both good defensively and going forwards? Delicious.

Good points.

Just to good to be true. This year at least while we are out of champs league.
So ruling out Barcelona, Bayern, City, Chelsea and PSG won't be interest for several different reasons but It's likely Madrid will be interested especially if we start putting in bids.

Everybody will be tempted but saying that City is favorite seems wrong, when Barcelona for exemple have lost Xavi and Fabregas, Real Madrid needs a star for this window, even Arsenal are real contenders.

I really don't think that City are clear favorites.

Seeing the likes of Young, Cleverley and Anderson leave will be like making new signings. Without Champions league to play we can pretty much play the same starting 11 and rest a couple in turns.

Ings to Soton.

I went to school with Ings. Its be ideal move for all parties I think. Local lad who is showing a lot of potential in the championship and for the U21s. He'd love the move.

Vidal, Sanchez, Schweinsteiger and Hummels.

If we got one of those on top of the two we've already signed, and we've had a damn good summer already.

Barcelona have signed Rakitic and Vidal would be a waste in their team. I hate that about Madrid despite having no need to sign Vidal they'll try and do it anyway and most likely get him. Arsenal won't get him the fee will be larger than what they paid for Ozil and his wages will be over 150K despite Arsenal having money they won't spend that much on one.

You are assuming all that, you're probably right but that's just assumption.

Agreed but think RM will go for a striker for their star signing, could be wrong but imo don't see Barca or RM going for Vidal, Chelsea don't need him, City can't, Arsenal won't.
Somehow oddly enough if he was to leave Juve, I think we may be favourites to sign him, They probably get Nani and plenty of cash in exchange to finance their transfer targets
