Uh, is that line about transfers from Rob Dawson the second time he's talked about Messi and Vidal? Because that's definitely not what he said in the post match interview

He was asked if he likes Di Maria and he said yes of course he likes Di Maria, but he also likes Messi and Vidal. He said he likes them and carried on the sentence to say that you cannot always get those kinds of players.

Just looks like a lazy misquote

He's firmly said that LVG talked about Vidal twice in two interviews. Apparently one to the TV cameras then one to the press.

Different interviews. Players and managers talk to numerous channels after games, not just the one we see after the match.

Nope it was a separate interview to the Sky one, he's named Vidal twice in the space of 5 minutes

Yeah shit quoting. He was asked who he liked and he said yes he likes Di Maria but he also likes Messi & Vidal.
 
The quote about Di Maria and Ronaldo was also done in a similar negative fashion.

"Or should I say, I don't have the quality of wingers available like Di Maria or Ronaldo or someone like that".


It's a carbon copy.

Also.. Why when it's obvious we've signed him is he making out it's impossible to sign players like him? Or is he saying that Vidal maybe isn't impossible...

Lol. You're right!!!

In fact his quote almost sounded like him saying he wouldn't sign him, and not to be disappointed. But after agreeing a deal for ADM, it feels like anything is possible.

Apparently he referenced Vidal again in the press briefing for journos like Rob Dawson - away from the Sky interview - which I'm guessing is the one that you (and I) saw, though.

Honestly, for a change I think this is a negative, I feel he listed his name with Messi's because of how unobtainable he is, like a subtle hint to United fans saying that we can't get him. All IMO, of course.

So we basically don't have to worry about the final 10m Euros because that aint happening any time soon. I don't know how they will evaluate performances either. It might take a while for him to settle in. 75m Euros it is!

This also crossed my mind too. But he had also mentioned Di Maria too I that sentence. A player we are about to sign. So you can look at it in either way.

I'm not aware of anything they've called correctly (or incorrectly). If his former team mates are openly wishing him luck at United on twitter, then I'd say this deal is done. Sky sports say a fee is agreed. And united only would've made the bid if personal terms were already agreed.

Not worried.
