If we come out of this window with Rojo, Blind, Shaw and Herrera after finishing seventh and losing Rio, Vidic, Evra, Büttner, Giggs, Nani (?), Fellaini (?) and Hernandez (?), we will have shown that we just don't have the ambition to compete at the top anymore. That is not even remotely close to being good enough.

Woodward ''this summer will see United move in the transfer market like never before''.
Shaw and Herrera are good buys but I don't think Rojo and Blind would add much. We needed real quality this window, not utility men or potential.

Well, if we want players like Di Maria we have to actually be able to beat other top clubs to his signature, not just hope they don't get involved.

This is why moving with speed is generally a good idea in these situations....

Seems harsh to say it about a window where we sign four players but that would be pretty terrible alright. Relative to what we need they'd be a pretty poor return....

I would believe they are adding the reported Rojo fee, alongside Nani wages. Implying that for what we got Rojo, we could have gotten a player that would be a more sensible addition. Carvalho is not a world beater, but he would have been our smartest addition this summer if we landed him, because he would add structure to our midfield and allow Herrera to play a free role where he is more influencial in the attack.

We are more short in defense right now than midfield, especially for 3-5-2 formation.

I think it's safe to assume most top clubs are monitoring the di Maria situation, he is available.

I think it's safe to assume that most newspapers know feck all and just link every available player to most of the clubs and make it a win-win situation for them.

I wonder why noone of the journalists had the idea to write about a swap-deal including Di Maria & Cavani yet.

So a French newspaper, is linking a Spanish clubs player to a German club... that makes sense.
Wouldn't happen to be a ploy to force PSG's hand would it? With them being so interested and all, and talks having gone on now for what feels like weeks.

Price too high for Man United ? Bullshit.

If we were ready to splash funds on Bale and Ronaldo's comeback there should be absolutely no obstacles in making a required bid for Angel DM.

If the only thing in psg's way is a sale, then surely he'll be theirs.

Maybe were just hoping for a situation where psg fail and we get him at a lesser price from a desperate madrid right at the death.

Not the same quality player IMO. Its a bucket load of cash for a winger / forward that doesn't score 20 a season, which is the sort of numbers you'd be looking for from a player you spent 50m on.

In that case I doubt we're gonna sign anyone of the highest caliber with that kind of mindset but I could be very wrong... let's just wait further more and watch the space for two weeks longer. Di Maria could provide Rooney and RVP with at least 10 to 15 assists beside scoring these few goals but I'm not gonna argue on that.

There's still time to deadline day to complete deals no matter what media saying.

It'll be weird if PSG (a club with FFP constraints who now have to sell before buying anyone) manage to place a bid for Di Maria before we do (despite our endless riches and willingness to buy anyone).
