Yup, had a feeling he was just being honest when I read his quotes from yesterday although many felt it was just him having learnt the lesson from summer to not be open about the transfer dealings.
"I was due to take [RVP] off after 60min, but if I had people would have said, ‘What are you doing?’"
About how he would have taken him off after 60 minutes but didn't because of how people would have reacted. That's how it was interpreted anyway, I'm not sure he meant it that way.
Just when I thought Moyes was improving in that regard.
That he would've taken him off because he was injured but because we were chasing the game he didn't because the fans would've questioned the decision.

It's amazing how poor he is with PR. Or maybe it's just our league position, failure in transfer markets and results this season which make everything he says sound like bad PR.
We can only speculate now but it's maybe apparent we'll be signing nobody of note this month anyway.

A manager lives and dies on results, not media soundbites. His comments are overanalysed because we're doing shite. You can find fault with anything he says, from a certain point of view, as long as he's not getting results. Which is why the whole excercise of analysing his comments is pointless.

I think we'd really, really like to stick by him as a club but if it becomes clear he doesn't have the mentality for the job and starts saying stupid things to the press and it starts effecting the players... then and only then can I see us looking to someone else.
At best it'll be something similar regarding Rooney and Spurs. Everyone could see Rooney wasn't fully fit and I think a lot expected him to be subbed.
