With Fornasier, McGinty, Brown and Veseli all leaving - surely we need some new defenders if we are gonna continue to play 7 of them in the reserves every match :)

The debt refinancing in late May is supposed to save £10m a year which should have with cashflow and reserves though.

Yeah but that wouldn't necessarily negate a share price drop when we spunk 10-15m on a player/asset a month or two later.

The 2 events are almost mutually exclusive.

Anyhow, the share price will drop, but it will invariably pick up soon after again. It's a nothing event, really.

Agreed. Am more annoyed that Barclays' share price has been hammered in the last couple of weeks. It's slashed my profits- had been one of my better investments...

Seriously guys. When I saw this thread had gained 2 pages since the last time I saw it, I was getting really excited. My dissapointment when I see its just financial comments.

Take it to that finance thread. I've gone all flaccid.

Well seeing as all the lads coming up to the U21's next year are basically midfielders maybe we'll go the other (Barca) way and play a team of midfielders instead

Unlucky buddy, though im sure the share price will recover in the medium-long term. (assuming Barcalys stop getting up to no good!)

Anyhow, let's not derail this transfer beauty of a thread

I bought at 164p so am firmly in the black still. But anyhoo, yep, back to idle transfer speculation.

Are you planning on taking up the scrip dividend offer Jippy?

I think I will actually. It was only a £1k punt in my Sipp, so the minimal cash payout I would get doesn't seem worth it and I'd only need to find another home for it.

A free share every 3 months is probably worth having in the long run.

I'm not sure how many shares you get per shares held, but am guessing I won't get a fat lot more than that. At 37, I aint retiring any time soon might as well let them pile up in the Sipp.

Wtf is this finance talk. Take it to the correct thread you gimps.

So Bayern bough Gotze, now they want Thiago? As well as Lewi? Can't see this happening, and hope for the rest of the world it doesn't, they beasts as it is.

Has anyone seen much of Sergi Samper?

Perhaps not 'much', but I have seen a bit of him as he and Grimaldo are favourites of mine strangely, bought them last year on FM and turned amazing, tracked them a bit in real life since, and Sergi to be honest is a very un-typical Spanish midfielder, in that I see him in a holding role personally, his distribution is brilliant, as is his vision.

You can never tell shit though, he could easily go either way, seems very eager to me, which is sometimes reflected in his performances, maturity will bring his talent out.

That tweet was based entirely on this Mundo Deportivo article (google translated):
Without Thiago, Sergi Roberto and much Song

While Thiago Alcantara just decide whether or not Barca leaves immersed in the dilemma of whether it is worth waiting for your turn to succeed Xavi, Iniesta and company or is best to seek a faster consecration another club, the club starts to prevent rather to heal just in case. The price of Thiago clause of 18 million euros after pleading no contest to sixty percent of the official games for Barça, has made Spanish-Brazilian midfielder in a signing appetizing for several clubs, including two powers Europe such as Manchester United and Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola, who has coached him.

It's no nonsense to think that Thiago, which will announce its decision at the conclusion the European Under-21, accept any of these offers so that the club has already prepared an alternative plan that bypasses sign, at least in principle, but in shoot with what you already have. As published Miguel Rico on the back of yesterday, Sergi Roberto, which will for all purposes of the first team player no matter what and whose continuity does not pass through any transfer would gain more importance if Thiago change of scenery, something that the club does not want, of course. Roberto is one of the most convincing homegrown to technical staff and its projection is considered huge. Companions as Mascherano also envision a great future. He can play inside both the right and the left, has good goalscoring arrival although their numbers have declined lately and does not avoid the collision. In the club understand that, at 21, does not make sense to continue at Barca B for the danger to stagnate. In fact, participating in the first team has shown higher level than in the reserve team.

The other midfielder, Thiago will go or not, will gain presence next season is Alex Song. Technicians believe that high note has exceeded his debut year in the first team, always difficult, and it is time to give more and more games and heavier. Overshadowed by the monumental figure of Sergio Busquets, untouchable player in the big races, Tito Vilanova and Jordi Roura meditate formulas mix them in the same alignment in the style that was used in the Champions League, especially in games away from home, with Keita. Song's contribution is necessary above all to gain muscle in midfield with greater packaging rivals, an aspect of game that the club has clearly suffered momentous events of the past year. With Song, intimidates and press Barca better

Yeah if Thiago wants first team football then Bayern aren't exactly the team he wants to be joining right now, may as well stay at Barca. He'd walk into our first eleven however.

I find it hard to accept that he knows his stuff if he thinks transfer speculation would affect the bloody share price.

I have only seen player signings have a positive outcome on stocks here in Denmark.

If investors think this deal is likely to happen, and think United is overspending or that signing another defender is unnecessary, it makes sense that the share price would drop, especially when you consider the amount of cash reserves that would be available for other signings afterwards.

What the hell do the Americans know about footballers anyway. Sorry "soccer" players.

I think he means that the news about his renewal with Real Madrid are false, Crackers.

Edit: big feck you for editing your post
