Ronaldo would cost the buying club around 30 Million a year (salary+fee).

Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Manchester United have contacted Fiorentina in order to secure the transfer of star forward Stevan Jovetic.

Moyes could have been following certain players (like Jovetic perhaps) for a long time but didn't have the financial power to go after them. Now he has a lot more options available to him he can really go after players he wants, I think if there is any weight behind this that it means Moyes could be preparing for Rooney's departure.

Times are reporting Chelsea have "hijacked Arsenal" for him so I don't think the press have much clue with what's going on with this one.

Or putting him under pressure to sign a new contract.

Arsenal have reportedly been on the cusp of signing him, then Fiorentina suggested they won't sell him the other day, now this... probably the selling club trying to send a message to Arsenal: pay the money to seal the deal or risk losing out.

I'm not going to get my hopes up but I don't understand why so many people laugh off the idea that Ronaldo might like to come back here.

He had his most successful time of his career with us and became the best player in the world here. He has lots of friends here, clearly has a lot of affection for the club, the fans adore him which we know massages that ego of his. At Madrid the dream never really kicked on, despite the talents of the team it never peaked in the way it should and now at 28 he's at a managerless club that is about to have a clear out and start yet another cycle from scratch. By the time they gel a new team together he's going to be 30+. He's got just a couple of years left on his contract and its time to make the biggest decision of his career. One that will affect the next 5-10 years and decide his legacy.

The fee? The wages?
The fact the manager he loved and was massively pandered to has just gone?

I really can't see Moyes managing him, allowing him not to defend when we haven't got the ball, and embracing his talents!

Jovetic is the closest thing to a Rooney in my opinion, so if that rumour is true.. Wayne is off.

Mark Lacaze @ MLacaze 8m
This week you can close it Guille Varela to Manchester United. 1,800,000 euros free for Peñarol.

Posted by a newbie. Looks legitimate btw.

The person is a reporter for Penarol.

Probably for the U21s, as we've released more or less our entire defensive line and it's most likely that all of Thorpe, Wooton and Keane is going out on loan again.

Moyes wasn't my first choice for the United job, but come on, you've no idea what he is like at handling players and whether he can deal with a player with an ego or not. If he can't handle big name players then he won't be here long, whether we sign Ronaldo or not.

Then it tells me he must have been exceptional in his trial. That can only be good for us; and for £1.5M you can't really go wrong.

Yeah the price speaks for the deal as it won't really matter that much if he doesn't make it here.

Who can then flick it on to our Rooney replacement, Anichebe.

Weel known ITKs Garda Traffic announced Ronaldo was going back to united and that the traffic collision on the n3 outbound is now clear.

The reason most think it's strange is we already have two young RB's in the Twins.

Except one is a left back?

Smalling and Jones can both play there - but both look more like centre halfs. This kid has been on trial and if they sign him he's clearly impressed. The money is next to nothing so I see no reason not to.

Still laughing at that.

I just read that Mata supposedly is for sale? Holy shiet, we're settled for next season then:

Mata - Kagawa - Ronaldo
--------- RVP ----------

Waterboy: Rooney

Fabio's a fine right back too, perhaps better than he is a left back. Tbh, I'd imagine Rafael can cover the left well enough too.
