I would have either Thiago or Marchisio over Modric to be honest.
Modric would be a bit of an anti-climax after being in with a shout for Thiago. To be honest though, I expect that Madrid will give him at least a further season to prove himself there.
Modric is a much better fit than Thiago, I think.
Modric would be perfect IMO, however - he's 28 in September and Moyes will probably opt for a more long-term option.
