It was supposed to be in the morning as well. And also yesterday. Fecking Twitter. I have lost my sleep because of this thing.

Apparently Jose met Joel Glazer in Claridges this morning - according to some chap called
@jameslindemann

 I've never seen so many new names on this forum before.

Stan Collymore is sounding like some kind of clairvoyant on twitter now. Reckons leaving Rooney out against Madrid was a clear indicator Fergie was off.

Right, got a couple of gems.

Geoff on Twitter(Arsenal fan and a proper ITK who has got things right in the past, like Cazorla and Monreal) claims that Arsenal have bid £20m for Rooney, and Dean(another reliable one) backs this up.

Another one is my own personal one which is groundbreaking, and I'm giving it to the Caf.

I was walking through the Emirates the other day, about 9pm(it's a thoroughfare so you can use it just to get from Holloway to Arsenal) and as I was walking through, I saw a bloke in a leather jacket with greasy hair pass me on my other side. I didn't realise at first, but then I realised.

It was the one and only Cesc Fabregas.

Make of that what you will.

Sure it wasn't Arteta?

That is some attention to leather jackets you pay there my friend.

Make of that what you will too, my favourite phrase in football.

Iv'e seen Rio a few times at Milton Keynes train station... Make of that what you will.

Rio for MK Dons.

Ballague says that Gill was in Madrid to discuss about di Maria.

Believable?

I am fairly confident that we did bid for Di Maria whilst he was at Benfica. He does seem and to fit the Manchester United style as a player. I am talking about his positive attributes here. He is also a Mendes client. I mentioned in the Ronaldo thread that Skybet have had us as at 13/8 to sign him for a number of weeks now. I only find this worth mentioning as this preceded any speculation in the press about the transfer. I wondered if they had received some large bets on the transfer.

I guess more believable than the Ronaldo stories

But he also said we had definitely made a down payment on Falcao. I don't think he ever knows shit. He just dresses his opinion as fact or inside knowledge.

It is more believable that they were discussing:

Nani - who has 1 year left on his United contract

Anderson - who we all want to leave

Bebe - to discuss where he will play next season

Mendes represents all these players.

Rooney wants to win things and he wants to get paid a lot.
So He'd move to Arsenal...something doesn't add up here.

Rooney going to Chelsea doesn't seem that unlikely and they're hardly close to winning the league either.

They will if they get him and even without Rooney they will be big contenders next season since they might have Mourinho.

Never in a million years will Rooney move to Arsenal. Firstly, £20m bid is pretty laughable considering we gave them more for van Persie who was older and had less time remaining on his contract. Secondly, he definitely wants to win trophies and he won't win many at Arsenal, and finally - they'll never be able to afford his wages without restructuring their wage bill which they didn't want to do even for their legend van Persie.

They're in a much better position than you though. Without all the manager frenzy they'd probably be up there with City (still some way behind us as we've been immense this season) and their squad is quite young - Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Ramires, Luiz, Azpilicueta and Curtois will be there for a long time and most of them should further improve. In reality they only need a competent manager (which they seem to have sorted out with Mourinho) and a couple of signings (which Mourinho will have taken care of with a blank cheque book from Abramovich in the Summer, I fully expect them to spend £100m+).
