I think it's more likely he's off than wanting to turn him into a midfielder. I mean, he's a better forward than midfielder, so why not leave him there and buy a midfielder instead of trying to make him into a mid and replace him up top? Makes no sense at all.

That is true. I hope he's not off though.

From Twitter :

Kevin Strootman agent: "Kevin will be in English league very soon. Everything is done."

Hope this is true and it's United

Also, German Newspaper 'Welt' are reporting that United have made a €34 million bid for Robert Lewandowski

I reckon Strootman is either United or Liverpool bound. I can't see City, Spurs, Chelsea or Arsenal signing him.

I got a feeling in my plums that he's ours.

Daily Mail had Arsenal after Jovetic and Adler today so could well be those two players.

Fergie also said "regardless of how many players we have" but she said she couldn't fit it into her tweet/

This Kevin Strootman thing. Would be thrilled if he came here. Maybe Van Persie had a hand to play in all of this? To convince him maybe?

We I dont we are going to sign a defender since we have so many options. Rafael and Fabio at RB. Evra and Buttner at LB. Smalling, Evans, Rio, Jones and Vidic at CB. GKs are set as well. The only place we could strengthen is midfield and maybe a striker.

"Push the boat out for that player" = Potentially try to go for Bale maybe? If it becomes public that Bale might be interested in moving away from Spurs, we'll have a gander at it and make an offer probably. I can't see us offering the amount of money Spurs want though.

Tbh saying that means nothing. We have always 'pushed the boat out' when Fergie wants the right player. If a deal can be done for a sensible price then it will be, if not Fergie isnt afraid to shop around or leave it. You've got think that we'll be getting atleast 25m in from the Anderson and Nani sales then have probably 30-40m to spend to its perfectly possible that we sign two 30m players.

Manchester United are going to buy Gareth Bale #insideinfo

Some Skysports presenter.

if Spurs ever decide to cash in on Bale - we simply have to make the best effort possible to sign him. If he then decides he would rather go to Barca or Real - fine, but no way in H we don't even try to sign him

She's speaking shit. Says Bale is taking Giggs 11 shirt when he moves into coaching at the end of the season. This is despite Giggs signing a year extension to his contract in March.

I'd love us to sign Bale. The main stumbling block is Levy. I can imagine Bale would want to come here. He probably idolised Giggs as a young'un, and has just watched us win our 20th title. He also was there when they showed all the clips about the class of 92' at the PFA awards and heard Fergie talk about trusting youth and all the great things the club does. Hopefully he wants some of that shit.

Surely all that was true when he had the opportunity to sign for us originally, but he didn't then so why should he now?

He never had the chance, we wouldn't pay what spurs were willing to pay.

"It was not the boy who turned us down, it was Southampton, then a few weeks later he signed for Tottenham"

Such a common misconception that he turned us down.

Even so, would he have turned into the player he is now if he'd come to us?

No.

I was actually thinking this the other day. Some of our fans often speak as if we are the only/best team when it comes to developing young players, but I was thinking that I don't imagine Bale would be where he was if he joined us instead. Chances are he made the right choice for his own career by joining Spurs.

Especially as Spurs persisted with him for quite a while before he started to pick up, we could have thrown him on the scrap heap by then for all we know.

He was a left back in those days too, so he'd have been second fiddle to Evra at best for us.

Who knew he'd turn out to be such a scarily quick and powerful winger?

We had 2 scouts watching Sporting vs Pacos Ferrieira at the Weekend apparently. 10 other teams there too.

Rumour on the playground is that there's some big Manchester United news breaking tonight or tomorrow.
