Don't know if Daehli will be a CM tbh. He will be more of a Kagawa type player. Same with Januzaj who'll be a false winger/AM.

Well, he might develop there late on but you can't bank on it now.

He's already playing top flight in Italy, has a international cap for Columbia and was MVP in the Copa America.

He's ahead in his progression compared to almost all of our kids and if he is a big enough talent then i can see us being interested.

Maybe that is the case but we get linked to so many players, we just have to see how it progresses

John Carew signing for Inter Milan as a replacement for injured Milito

Carew: "I'm ready and I feel good. I've been traveling a lot lately, and I've even acted in a movie but now I'm ready to give it all for Inter. I did not expect a chance like this, but life is full of surprises."

Have to say this seems like an idiotic move from Inter, he's been away from football for such a long time, and he didnt even get any games for WH in the Championship.

The Guardian taking the piss out of Liverpool today.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/mar/01/football-transfer-rumours-manchester-city

Manchester City are going to sign some football players. Good old Manchester City. Roberto Mancini is planning a swoop for Barcelona's Chilean flop Alexis Sánchez, who was a target for City two years ago, while Liverpool are also interested. City will give Barcelona some cash money, while Liverpool can offer them some philosophy

Brendan Rodgers has been speaking. Hurrah! Liverpool's spiritual leader – a boss, a visionary and a friend – has been nattering on about Luis Suárez's future and is confident he can keep the striker away from Bayern Munich, even without Champions League football next season. "I've made him sort of my architect within the group," explained Rodgers, fooling no one but confusing everyone. "I've also made Jamie Carragher my sous-chef, Joe Allen my Education Minister and Fabio Borini my postman," he didn't add. If Suarez does decide to stay, he'll be lucky enough to team up with the Reading defender Alex Pearce. Get in

Just wanted to post this here as I thought it was quite funny.

Howard Nurse ‏@howardnurse
Real Madrid scheduled to arrive in Manchester in next 20 minutes.

Craig Norwood ‏@CraigNorwood
@howardnurse Already landed and on bus route to hotel Howard

 Typical Howard Nurse.

Do you recon Howard Nurse is at the airport looking at his watch wondering "Where the feck are they?"

Honigstein:

forgot to tweet some gossip from Manchester: Edin Dzeko to Borussia Dortmund is "all but done", I was told. #BVB

Dortmund officials negotiated with Man City at QPR game in London

one word of caution: Dzeko to Bayern was also almost done last year, before too many agents asked for too much commission

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, cracking replacement for Lewandowski if true.

Decent deal, not sure he's a cracking replacement mind. Lewandowski seems Premiership bound, which isn't good news as I rate him. Really hope he doesn't go to Shitty or Chelsea. Although I think Gotze is the real star of Dortmund, but Lewandowski is still a top, top player.

Lewandowski is off to Bayern, isn't he.

Still Dzeko will be a class act in that team.

Very good player, but Dzeko ist better IMO (having watched both from their very Bundesliga start). You're right about Gotze, superstar in the making. How I wish we could sign him...
If Lewandowski goes to City and they keep their hands off Cavani and/or Falcao, I'll be delighted. He's a step below them.

Nah, it's very much in the air. Dortmund seem extremely reluctant to sell to Bayern.

Disagree, I think Lewandowski is the better player, he's on par with Cavani. Although I agree, Falcao is a step up from the pair of them. Although I think he's Barca bound anyway, which is a terrifying thought.

Rumour going around Brighton that Poyet is trying to sign Diego Forlan on loan for the rest of the season.

Bit cheeky of him.

Graeme Bailey ‏@GraemeBailey 9m
Sky sources understand Gus Poyet given permission to talk to Reading...

Yes, seen that on Facebook. He's done so much down here. I fully understand him wanting to manage in the premiership, but from what I've seen of Brighton and Reading lately Brighton have got more chance of going up via play offs than Reading have of surviving.

I'd stay at Brighton all day long.

And no I'm not gay.

Don't really see the point of moving to a club in the division above that will most probably get relegated whatever, to find yourself back in the same division next season.

He's better off sticking where he is. If he wants to manage in the PL, better to wait for the inevitable sack race at the beginning of next season, or see what happens in the summer, & throw his hat in the ring then.

Completely agree, he's started to build a nice team at Brighton. They've got an academy being built with great training facilities. Had a new attendance record of 28,500 (compared to Readings usual 22,000) with a few thousand more seats going in over the summer.

Brighton have offered him an increase in transfer budget this summer, the only advantage I see in Reading is the PL balloon payment, but we all know how few sides bounce back up.

Reports in Portugal claim that Norwich have reached agreement with Sporting Lisbon for Dutch international striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Graeme Bailey ‏@GraemeBailey 1h
Seems the van Wolfswinkel is correct, expecting confirmation from Sporting Lisbon at some point today.

Interesting given that he was linked with much bigger clubs, us included.

Damn that is a very good singing for Norwich if it happens. Always looked like a good player when iv seen him and he's still only 24. €10m is the reported fee.

Weird that he is committing to going to Norwich this early. They do like to play direct a bit with Holt.

Also, they aren't fully safe though they should be in all probability.

I expect a clause stating this goes through only if Norwich stay up.

So the MEN say that Manchester town hall will be lit up red and blue based on the proportion of a certain hashtag that is tweeted before the eve of the derby!

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...ews/painting-manchester-town-hall-red-2062256

#VMred #DerbyDay

Why bother, If it ends up being mostly red City wfans will cry foul of all the londoners who voted and how pathetic it is that we go to such lengths. If it ends up being mostly blue then City fans will cry out about positive proof that Manchester is blue.

Well maybe he felt it isn't new thread worthy, so it makes sense to stick it in the twitter thread.
