Pity he keeps slowing down when he runs up to a player though.
depends on the instructions from his coach, he was playing on the right of midfield 3 (well it seemed that way), maybe he was to give a bit of width and just press and cut off passing angles, they knew if u got too tight to the likes of Neymar that they would rip them a new one (a bit like Chelsea played vs Barca but with more purpose on the counter attack).
So maybe his job was to just keep pressuring Brasil to pass to their least effective players, who would do the least damage. It seemed to work as Oscar had to come almost into Mexico's half to try and make a difference and Neymar was pretty ineffective. Only until Hulk came on did they get any penetration, even then they soaked up the pressure well. In that match Herrera seemed to be willling to receive the ball by getting into space and then he was not greedy he passed quickly to keep attacks flowing.
all in all, he looks to have a better 1st touch than gibson, so that's a start,
, and rarely got caught on the ball. he should improve by training with Carrick and scholes; if we sign him, i trust Fergie to have done his homework, and i just hope that this is not a Poborsky style signing, but one we've done our homework on, maybe Hernandez had a hand in him getting United's attention.
