Like any good prosecutor Mueller wouldn't be asking questions he doesn't already know the answer to. He isn't asking Trump about how much he knew about the hacking of the emails because he's genuinely not sure whether he knew anything or not.
He keeps daring the GOP Congress to use their power to stop him and they, so far, have refused to do anything. See the veto-proof Russia sanctions they passed. The administration has essentially just ignore them and there's no response. This would be the biggest test of their resolve but at the end of the day, if there isn't enough to gain from publicly rebuking him, they won't do it. And he's shown he'll be an absolute child when it comes to dealing with anyone who goes against him. There's no principle involved here, just self-preservation.
Make him a lame duck president in November. Imagine his meltdown if everyone collectively called him the lame duck for 2 years. Also, the Dems must have as many investigations in to trump inc as the repugs did for Clinton and Bengahzi.
