Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

Will the next generation be turned into them too? Or have we crossed some sort of threshold? I hope so. Hope the young aren't being so easily lead...

Sadly i think they will. You just need to look at the likes of 4chan and alt right, where a lot of the members are in their late teens and twenties.

Yrs that was my take too. Not sure about the extent so hopefully its not that many.

Nothing newsworthy in that clip, just a confused woman. But we got her name and face so she can be harrassed.

She's not just a "confused woman". She ran the facebook group that was coopted by the Russians, which is very relevant here.

He's trolling, because all things related to Russia are apparently a big joke to him.

I want to wrap a baseball bat across his teeth and then double tap the back of his head. Absolute thundercnut.

I think that’s the new tactic btw, it’s all a big joke and the Liberals are drama queens.

Yep.

The links not working for me, is it the Risen/Greenwald debate? I heard some of it on Jeremy Scahills podcast earlier and it was indeed quite interesting. Risen's point about Greenwald always playing the man and not the underlying issue is absolutely spot on. Although even Greenwald is having to admit that there's more to the Russian interference than he initially gave credence to.

Decent debate, but Glenn is right in that his stance hasn't changed at all - he has been repeating this since the story broke. "Russia may have interfered, but I need proof, and there is zero proof of collusion". I'm glad though that Scahill called him out about appearing on Tucker Carlson.

yeah but if you cant make these people see the light then theres no fecking hope
Uh, this person is obviously a dedicated Trumpite. She knows already that she disseminated Russian bullshit. She doesn't care. She disingenously pretends not to get it. She 'knows all the people who helped'. Mary and Mac and Johnny. No, she didn't invite any Russians to her party. She knows too that Trump is a vulgar, craven, dishonest, corrupt, pig ignorant feck but - to her - he is 'one of ours'. Anti-democrat, anti-liberal, anti-any-race but WASP. She is invested. She is primed to be antagonistic to what she percieves as a liberal attack on her 'candidate', her 'president'. Never going to be convinced, never going to change. You can argue about the vacuum in representation for her cohort of voters; about white conservative insecurity. Interesting to get a close-up of a live one.

4chan doesn’t represent the whole generation. There are many young adults my age who have had conservative, religious, Fox News watching parents growing up, and are now left winged, Democrat voting, and hates Trump. I’m one of those examples. You have students in Florida trying to take on the NRA, and to some extent, the second amendment. Many women in my generation are being more vocal and active on harassment and equality in society. The ethnic demographics are becoming more and more mixed than before. No one is growing up in a time where America is “great” like back in old days and are instead growing up in the era of the war on terrorism, and don’t have any memory of 9/11.

The demographics of the 2016 election suggest otherwise.

Th 18-30 generation seems quite left. It is the next one that is the question. Will they be more influenced by Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, SJW cringe compilation#43, or by the same economic forces that seem to have influenced the millennials?

For now, the left has no popular answer to the anti-SJW youtube scene, and the liberals are nowhere in the picture at all.

That's a fair comment. It's troubling. Dems have a lot of work to do. I feel there are better threads for me to discuss this more so I won't here!

Good counterpoints.

I'd be interested in following, tag me if you do.

It’s interesting that Gates apparently got a plea deal and now all these charges come about.

Am I remembering right that Gates got a “queen for a day” interview last week or the week before where he could basically spill everything he could think of with no threat of it being used as evidence against him, in order to establish whether there is any value in dealing with him?

If that is the case, I’d guess that he’s going to be acting as witness for most of these indictments against both of them in return for lenient setencing.

Very good thread from Asha describing dual sovereignty and why the likes of Manafort and Gates can still be prosecuted even if they receive a Trump pardon.
