Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

But he wanted to end the investigation since last year February.

At that time the situation wasn't desperate enough to warrant it so people could talk him out of it. That will quickly change.

Obama was incredibly mindful of not taking any action because it would have been deemed to have been interfereing in the election.

Imagine if it was announced during the campaign that Trump Campaign was under investigation for colluding with the Russian government.

Republicans would have gone absolutely fecking mental. He let it play out the only way he could. Rock and a hard place.

The last line isn’t all the proof you need that he’s attempting to change the narrative.

That's the sad part about this entire Russian problem. Obama knew, the FBI knew, the Senate Intelligence Committee knew but unfortunately for the sake of freaking politics Obama couldn't do a thing.

Mueller biding his time before releasing the gold. The recent Russian indictments are just chicken feed compared to what he might have on Trump’s transition team.

Mueller has carefully navigated not disturbing Trump's inner circle until enough information is in the public domain to warrant the investigation continuing until it reaches Trump's inner circle. A stroke of genius.

Like father, like son

I wonder how much of a hand Bannon would have played in directing attention to Kushner

That’s the great thing about Trump’s staff is the fact they’re all egotistical wankers who only have their own interests at heart. Half of them clearly hate each other and if they get a chance to stick the knife in, they will.

The FBI is reportedly investigating whether Russian money was funneled through the National Rifle Association to help Donald Trump become President.

Federal investigators are targeting Alexander Torshin, a deputy head at Russia’s central bank, who hosted a pair of dinners for a high profile NRA delegation in Moscow in 2015, McClatchyreported on Thursday.

The thought of Mueller wrapping the NRA into this investigation is just

Agree. The Trump administration has had to be this weird blend of 3 distinct prongs to support him - 1) his family, 2) the establishment GOP and 3) the nationalist base. Each have their own unique and often distinct policy goals and no group seems very fond of any other. It was a marriage of convenience and now that it's falling apart, it's blowing up in spectacular fashion.

He looks like he would threaten the local kids by making his father tear down their favorite park or youth center, because one of the nice girls didn’t want to feck him.

Its a communication stroke of genius for the court of public opinion -- he has established that there a 'bad pool of water' ie the Russian election rigging project. Now he will let it stew and bake-in as a fact since Trump has been running around delegitimising MSN since day one.

Later anyone who is deemed to have drunk from this pool is now infected.

Love how they have Ajit Pai in there under the "we're not racist because we have a brown guy in our lineup" banner.

Still no place for Luke Shaw though.

Trump's always tweeting about the collusion thing, but why does he rarely mention obstruction of justice?

“Obstrug...strokefe...”

*knocks on door-“Hey Mel babe, where does the ‘G’ go in obstruction?”

“Up your ass.”

“Hmmm... wait, am I out of ketchup packets?”

My god these people are stupid. It'd trigger the worst constitutional crisis since the civil war. Democrats have spent months planning protests in case Mueller is fired, this would certainly trigger those nationwide plus much, much more.

Plus of course, then the state indictments would be placed anyway.

I still wonder if Trump is actually innocent.

Not everyone around him of course, but him on his own.

All the bleating about no collusion and so on, maybe he didn't actually know about it?

He's so concerned about the validity of the election and we know he's a narcissist so there is that but it's entirely possible everyone working for him conspired to get him where he is and didn't tell him because he wouldn't accept it.

Or more likely he's just a lying cnut and he still thinks that this is the way forward because it still clearly works with his base.

The investigation at this point isn't just about collusion - its about conspiracy, obstruction of justice, financial crimes, and potentially perjury, so any of these could be in play and of course only one of them needs to be proven.
