Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

The idea that Trump and Family didn’t know any of this

There’s a politico article worth reading about this.
The social media giants have been trying to control the narrative so far - “Russians buying adverts” and they are happy to share data on this.

What they are trying to avoid (and congress appears to be wise to this) is the use of “organic trends”. The use of bots, fake and hijacked accounts to exploit their algorithms and push the stories they want pushed.

The social media giants are all trying to avoid talking about this because addressing it would be admitting that a sizeable percentage of the activity that drives their revenues comes from these underhand methods.

If they all attacked the bots (which is easily done as the posting style signatures stick out like sore thumbs and verification methods would be easy to introduce) they would be a lot quieter and slower paced places.
Honestly think this issue should have a thread on its own. It's a menace.

absolutely -the crash in advertising revenues would be huge and would be another dot com bubble bursting!

assuming that is a reply to me via Adisa -
Which is why advertisers should be getting behind it as they are paying far more than they should as most clicks and views are bots.

so lets just say it implodes - any chance there is a snap election - to do the republicans just stay in charge?

And if there is a snap election who would the dems (and I guess the reps) put up - any chance clinton stands again?

Nope.

No snap elections in the US, if Trump is out, Pence takes over, then Ryan I think.

The only way Hillary will be president is if she runs again in 2020, which is looking very unlikely unless it’s somehow proven that votes were altered and she should have won.

Mueller has uncovered nothing new (from what we've been told today) about Manafort that the media didn't cover last year anyway. Here's an ABC article from August 2016 with all of this information outlined:

https://www.cnbc.com/2016/08/18/tru...mpaign-for-previous-ukraine-ruling-party.html

Interestingly, these crimes came when both he and Gates worked for the Podesta Group:

Let's hope all criminality is investigated both thoroughly and impartially.

CNN legal analyst says he believes the Mueller investigation will go into 2019.

yes that would be so much fun - the corporate finance models are currently grossly distorted by the social media bubble. would be great to actually get back to proper actual real profitability rather than voodoo accounting!

IIRC Manafort was the one who pushed Trump to hire Pence. That should certainly come under scrutiny.

Edit: https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-03-23/don-t-believe-white-house-revisionism-on-manafort

At that July breakfast in Cleveland, it was clear that Manafort spoke for the candidate and knew his thinking. He had been in charge of all the strategy for the convention.

He explained that he had put Trump in touch with Mike Pence, then governor of Indiana and now vice president. "I brought him in to meet Pence," Manafort said of Trump, adding that the contact led to the notion that the Indiana governor "had value to Trump as a potential VP nominee."

Yep. The fact a Trump campaign advisor lied to FBI agents related to his interactions with foreign nationals is huge.
I didn't expect that one. We all kind of expected the financial charges against Manafort. But Yeh fact that this advisor has been flipped for things that actually have to do with collision is quite astounding.

Pence is the Kochs' man, and as much as I hate them and hope they vanish off the planet, I'm not seeing the connection. Besides, there was a long article in the New Yorker where it said that Pence was the second-choice until the absolute last minute, behind Christie. This was after he had met Pence (which was arranged by Manafort). The actual selection (and change of mind) happened after Manafort was gone.

I don't think that timeline is right, Manafort left in mid-August 2016, Pence was chosen in mid-July 2016

Knowing Donnie, he'll be so worked up he will tweet himself a confession by the end of the day.

I highly recommend reading the actual indictment for Papadopolous. In the timeline, they are definitely referencing DJT Jr and Manafort. More to come I'm sure.

I think Don Jr. will be Mueller's final target. No better way to get to the big fish than putting pressure on his kids.
