Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

Hannity and Co will be releasing thier stories round about now.

That’s a hell of a scalp. If they’ve got concrete criminal charges to pin on him, he’s should have a lot of inner knowledge to loosen the noose.

It feels very necessary to take a step back and take in just how daft and utterly mad the last ten months have been. We're not even a year in and already close confidantes of Trump's are indicted.

Trump doesn’t know Manafort. He might have played a small role in his campaign but Trump doesn’t know what he did, in fact he didn’t do anything and Trump didnt authorise his hiring. They never met.

One of the great memories of all time.

Trump probably doesn't know about Manafort yet as Fox and Friends never mentioned it.

"Nobody knows more about Russian collusion than me!"

NBC reporting Manafort’s charges were likely tax related and that Mueller may have been dealing with a statute of limitations issue.

These sound like very serious charges, no?

Edit: surely they have Flynn on some of these exact same charges too. Flipped him already?

Long story short: Mueller is alleging Manafort basically laundered millions from the Russians and is attempting to flip him to testify against Trump.

Two prong attack, no?
Manafort/Gates laundering etc
Flynn TBD likely conspiracy?

I think Mueller will keep going after the lower hanging fruit until he flips at least one of them to testify against Trump.

I'd imagine Kremlin Mike Flynn will be next due to his work with the Turkish government.

@Buchan let's talk now.

It's on. Predicting this thread will hit 10 pages by the end of the day.

I said the other day it'll be Manafort. Most of the charges (or even all?) are from pre-2016. Collusion?

(I've been out all morning and still out now so haven't seen the reports in full. Will post later when I get an opportunity.)

The Rick Gates indictment is the surprise announcement. Never saw anyone in the media coverage mention him as a possible suspect.

Sure but you also said
Who said it's Trump's people who are going to be indicted?

And that's what I'd replied to when I said "let's talk on Monday".
