Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

If Trump was impeached on obstruction of justice while the Russia Investigation was still ongoing (and completely free from his control), would that increase the chances of him seeing jail time?

He likely wouldn't be impeached while it was still ongoing since Mueller wouldn't have made his final report yet. Everything should happen at once.

He wont be impeached. Simple as.

I would love for him to be impeached but I think yes he will run out his 4 fecking years and when he stands for reelection he will lose.

The pace at which Mueller is moving, I think he’ll lay down some very serious charges and a water tight case on Trump and a lot of his associates by July. I think he’ll be out of office July 19.

Doesnt the speaker have the final vote or something on impeachment? Will the Republicans controlling everything doubt it will happen.

The speaker is 3rd in line and the 2nd in line is currently heavily implicated in all this.

I'm intrigued to see how the Republicans approach this. Obviously they detest Trump but until now they've caved to him and have been entirely spineless. Actually impeaching him would be an admission of guilt in having stood by him and they may let him soldier on.

KT McFarland has sure come along way.

I used to remember her appear on Fox's live webcast called "The strategy room" around the time Obama got elected.

How do you think she slithered into the administration. She was part of the Fox News cabal who attempted to surge into the administration during the transition. Laura Ingraham, Heather Nauert, the Mooch, and KT were all under consideration early on.

At one stage it looked like Ingaraham was favourite to replace Spicer. Would have been crazy with her as press secretary.

She was actually gunning for the job before Spicer was appointed, but Preibus, who was still in Trump's good graces at the time, pushed for his RNC lackey Spicer to get the job. Ingraham would've been comparably disastrous as Spicer and Sanders.

I agree with @RCR07 that he won't be impeached.

I hold out hope that Mueller can get enough on him that he'll resign and get sent to prison however.

Although it would be even more spectacular if he gets charged whilst sitting President. Can that happen?

If the Dems win the house next November, the odds of an impeachment rocket upwards.

I can't see Sanders lasting. At some point there will be a line crossed where she will just say feck it. I have mixed feelings on individuals in his inner circle staying put (they can actually make things better) but for the likes of Spicer, Sanders etc they can go feck themselves. They constantly defend the indefensible.

Careful with that wording!!! I almost instinctively googled "Bernie health"

Bottom line: A typical identity politician, and I wouldn't trust him in any impeachment scenario as he'll likely side with the home party.

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Special Counsel Robert Mueller has asked Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) to share data on accounts held by U.S. President Donald Trump and his family, a person close to the matter said on Tuesday.

To quote the great Lester Freamon

You follow drugs, you get drug addicts and drug dealers. But you start to follow the money, and you don't know where the feck it's gonna take you

That's some big news.

Back in July, Trump said that Mueller would be crossing the red line if he started looking at his finances.

I think in all likelihood, Mueller crossed that bridge a long time ago. My best guess is that we're only hearing about this because Deutsche Bank are leaking it themselves - note that the source of the article is in Germany.
