Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

How absolutely stupid do you have to be? Even a low level street criminal knows to never use traceable communications

Have you not seen The Wire? Street crims are far smarter because they have to be. These cnuts think they are untouchable, and as I said before, have mo morals or ethics. They think if they ever get caught that they can buy their way out of trouble and they are usually right.

One rule for them, another for everyone else. Even worse is they steal in front of ou eyes and still get elected or get away with it. Things REALLY need to change because it cant go on like this.

He could still save this and fire some staff member tomorrow and claim he'd gone rogue with his twitter and that it wasn't actually him.

Actually, just noticed that this morning. The number of replies, and like to replies, is drastically down.

Yep, a 30 minute old tweet would have at least 15k likes by now.
It will be interesting to see if this continues.

Someone raised an interesting question. Spicer once told the media that Trumps tweets were official statements of the president. If that's true then Dowd writing a tweet without Trumps approval would surely be impersonation of the president and misrepresenting the government? There must be a crime there somewhere. Wonder if Dowd would actually take a prosecution in exchange for covering up for his boss.

It doesn't even matter one bit who "drafted it". If Trump says something, whether he orates it or tweets it, the words are his responsibility.

He has a lawyer to give him the best advice and it's his problem if that advice is bad.

If a suspect stands up in court charged with a DUI and says "I had only drunk 6 pints that night, not 10 like is being suggested" because his lawyer told him to, he doesn't get to say "actually those aren't my words, that's just what my lawyer suggested I say" when he gets convicted.

Not to mention that someone else tweeting under Trump's name is incredibly irresponsible. Until now we've been expected to take these tweets at face value as the genuine thoughts and feelings of Trump. If it's not him always tweeting then that's incredibly problematic because someone who goes rogue could incite something serious by saying something unapproved. Something that'd be damaging not just to Trump himself but potentially to others.

It should be interesting but it's just another to add to the humongous pile of things that are illegal or questionable that Trump and his cohorts do and say every day that'll never, ever get thought about and just let off with.

Unless say there's a highly dedicated prosecutor running an investigation into any crimes these people might be commiting. :)

Twitter isn't a court of law though, you're legally allowed to lie on twitter or claim a tweet was a lie as a defense

His tweets have already been used as evidence against him in a court of law.

Sure, but then he has to openly admit that he lied to the American people. Obviously most people already know this, but it hurts his relationship with the weaker parts of his base and hands Dems ammunition to make sure voters come out in 2018/2020.
