Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

Wouldn't the immunity agreement probably also be contingent on Weisselberg actually giving what he offered? He couldn't just turn around and say "lol, jk".

If I've learned anything from The Shield, and I think I have, it's that you have to give up everything.

Yes....that's precisely what i was suggesting in the post you quoted.

What a decent man would do.

Given the mob movie parallels already, I'm picturing the final scene in the future movie "Fire and Fury":

Trump calls Jr into a room and tells him that he has to take the fall to save the family. Jr, facing a long time in prison, goes home and dials up Robert Mueller's office...

**fade to black***

Look at Papadopoulos - he apparently lied on purpose after his agreement was struck and now Mueller's team are looking to get him maximum punishment instead of leniency

That probably settles it then. The money came directly with his authorisation. Probably means he's the executive being g investigated.
How the feck can the USA have a president under criminal investigation and no one in the party is telling him to step aside?

Well Cohen Invoiced them in February 2017. So technically not settled

LOL. Jr might even do it without giving it much thought.

Alexander Hamilton’s Federalist Paper #74 is what you seek.

George Mason led the campaign against the pardon power being included in the Constitution, but Hamilton in #74 made the argument that something like a Prerogative of English Kings pardoning power could help a future president in stopping a rebellion.

As a history buff and fellow citizen, do you think the Constitution needs a revision some 200+ years later?

Not that it will ever happen obviously.

I'd prefer a more Joe Pesci in Goodfellas ending. Don Jr enters a building thinking he's taking over the presidency after the law has been changed. Stephen Miller whacks Don Jr as he enters the oval office.

Don Jr. and Eric need to be airdropped into the Serengeti without weapons. There are a few animals that would like to have a word with them.

If Goldilocks, mother bear and baby bear have just been given immunity from prosecution in an investigation into Daddy Bear Enterprises it kind of points to one thing, doesn't it?

"Mr Weisselberg worked with us for a very short period of time in a very minor role"

Best season ever so far. Hope the producers satisfy the audience with the finale because there’s a good chance the shows going to be cancelled.

Is this all going to lead to something substantial like Trump getting impeached, or is this dependent on how the mid-terms go?

As more people come forward and offer information either in public court like Michael Cohen or privately to prosecutors in return to deals constituting lighter sentencing or immunity from prosecution, Trump's options insofar as choosing to shut everything down is surely limited. I think that's why he lashed out at Sessions this week, not because he has any expectation of replacing him and getting someone who'll set up but more out of frustration that he didn't do that much sooner and in recognition that it's realistically now too late.

This guy is Chief Financial Officer of Trump Organization. It's a huge scalp, it's the guy at the very, very top. He is going to know about every dollar of its spending. It's very bad news for Trump, final nail imo.

I'm guessing they're going after the Russian money laundering here. A bunch of oligarchs bought a lot of Trump property at inflated prices.

But what if the mid-terms go Trump's way? I've heard people say that the Dem's will impeach if they do well in November.
Its dependent on the mid terms.
This is what I've heard several times.

If he's guilty, surely he's guilty. Surely? The American Government can't allow a criminal to be President, it'd make a complete mockery of the justice system.

You don’t get America, do you?

Seriously ?
Well, I get the reasoning. Trump is so obviously appalling, it’s easy to motivate people to work against him. Pence on the other hand is more subtle and intelligent, yet follows the exact same agenda.

I'd rather have a senile dumbass who spends all his time watching tv than a deadeyed psycho like mike pence who would be more effective at ruining peoples lives.

Yeah, it's a shit situation.

Trump, Pence, Clinton...none of them are valid for any kind of reasonably thinking person. But then what politician ever is I guess.

You have a foreign agent in the white house. Are you sure Pence follows the same agenda?
