Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

Reminds me of a time I had to pay off a Mexican cop.

In my first pass through, the cop loudly proclaimed that 'I love my country, I love my job, I love my family' -- which basically meant that I had to increase my offer. And in his very last and a much quieter proclamation, he said, 'I love my family, I love my job, I love my country.'
I paid and drove off.

So Cohen as backtracked on his taking a bullet for Trump. Not sure how the dictator will take it but i can't see him tweeting anything about this.

How much does it cost to pay off a Mexican cop?

The Stephanopolous interview definitely sounds like Cohen is about to flip once he's indicted.

Why broadcast you are going to flip?
I still think he is trying to get Trump's help?

He didn't broadcast the he would flip. He said his family come first which is being interpreted as a sign his loyalty to Trump is not his concern anymore. He also changed his legal team and stopped cooperation with Trump's lawyers.

Fox News smears Michael Cohen after ABC interview: He’s no longer ‘credible’ if he’s willing to ‘go against’ Trump

Faulkner argued that Cohen could no longer be seen as “credible” if he becomes a witness for the prosecution.

“Where we are right now is if you know something that is so important, and yet, he is willing to talk to the president but seemingly going against him, what does that say about this person as a witness?” she opined. “It becomes difficult to see him credible at this point. I don’t know what he knows, but based on the way he is acting.”

Every little victory counts.
small mercies I guess
It’s a big step for him. This past election was the 1st presidential one he’s been old enough to vote in. He did like 90 odd percent of Americans do in 1st elections and vote for their parent’s political party. He’s now moved past that.

I’m almost certain he’s going to vote for the Democrat running for Governor in SC.

Well good for him that he thinks for himself.

Senate Intel Committee confirm Russia tried to help Trump campaign. Doubt it means much though.

How did you explain it to him?
He’s got a history degree too, so we had a conversation about Mussolini, about how Fascism is really Corporatism, about how the US has been practicing a slow evolution towards Corporatism since WWII, about how too much nationalism is dangerous, etc.

Interesting how corporatism was mentioned because I first heard that link from Ron Paul of all people 10 years ago.

I think we'd get further in convincing others if it was called Corporatism instead of Fascism. That word just has too much baggage.

Of all the things he was wrong about, he was right about that.

The Labour Charter of 1927, promulgated by the Grand Council of Fascism, stated in article 7:
"The corporative State considers private initiative, in the field of production, as the most efficient and useful instrument of the Nation," ... "State intervention in economic production may take place only where private initiative is lacking or is insufficient, or when are at stakes the political interest of the State. This intervention may take the form of control, encouragement or direct management."

Agreed completely.
