Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

Not sure how you can blame that on the aspects of Obama that are inspirational. As I said there were many operational flaws in the Obama admin but his angle of passion and inspiration was not one of those flaws.

Anyway Obama never gained control over the DNC in 2008. The Clinton faction continued to control the DNC so the bolded could be blamed on the Clinton machine just as much as Obama because the Democrat party as an organization was very much still operating with the Clinton's direction.

Sorry, but this isn't factually acccurate. Obama had full control over the DNC after his deal with Clinton, and it was his own decision to allow the grassroots organization to die back down, and leaving the DNC leading the way.

There's a good insider analysis of it here.

"In late December, Plouffe and a small group of senior staffers finally made the call, which was endorsed by Obama. The entire campaign machine, renamed Organizing for America, would be folded into the DNC, where it would operate as a fully controlled subsidiary of the Democratic Party."

As a group the Democrats simply need more backbone. If that's what you mean then I agree. Republicans blocked Obama's Supreme Court nomination for over a year. So the Democrats should have filibustered Gorsuch. But they lacked the resolve. They just need to stop compromising when the Republicans are not compromising. They have to be willing to use all the outdated parliamentary tricks that the Republicans use in Congress. But they don't need to blackmail, bully and play dirty the same way to project strength and power because it won't work. It will just backfire like how it did with Clinton trying to label Trump pussy-grabber when in her own history she attacked her husband's accusers publicly and played her dirty politics on them!

Nah, I'm not in favour of them adopting the really nasty stuff, but politics is a rough business. Bernie Sanders is actually probably a very good example of how tough you can be while staying clean. If you watch his senate speeches, he regularly goes for the Republican jugular without any hesitation. Ironic how his gentle approach with Hillary managed to convince half the party that he was too soft, and Trump would have eaten him alive. In reality the guy is a tiger on issues he cares about.

.

The DNC Chairs Tim Kaine (2009-11), Donna Brazile (2011) and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (2011-16) were all Clinton people (albeit to different degrees). That's what I mean.

The Democrats need someone who is strong but also honorable. Clinton came off as neither.

I don't understand how the likes of Schumer, Pelosi, etc are not harping on this more now. That's why the public's perception of the investigation is moving more to side with Trump & Co, they're letting them control the narrative. They should ask themselves what the likes of Cruz, Rubio, etc would be saying and doing if this was happening to President Hillary's campaign manager and personal attorney.
It's been proven that with the midterms coming up that the Dems are better off fighting on policy rather than going after Trump. Let Mueller and Co deal with the sleaze while they fight each seat on local issues.

Maybe the donors don't want them to say much on the subject .That is who they really answer to.

We can't have a go and the Dems for not having a message beyond being anti-Trump then have a go at them for not doing enough to take advantage of the Cohen stuff.

Sister of covfefe?

Someone on Reddit pointed out that Cohen is a current RNC Finance Chair.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this pushes the GOP to shut it all down now.

Dems need to be getting ready to call for major protests once the pardon is given. A 5 million plus protest in DC would be breathtaking to see.

It would replace the inauguration photo in the White House while the plaque stays the same.

Looks like the special counsel's office just had a howler. They accidently released an unredacted document.

Not a good look when the people working on the investigation are supposed to be the best in the business. Also it wont help that this blunder occurs at the same time the WH seems to be winning the pr battle on degrading the investigation.

I'm not entirely sure this was accidental.

Yeah, I hope to hell the information wasn’t classified/privileged.

Don't get the same feeling. The oredidepres latest attempt was made to look foolish.

I wouldn't pay much attention to polls. I am hink the people who don't want to believe it or care, never will. I also don't think Mueller cares either. He is simols chasing the facts and will bring indictments as he sees fit.

The polls matter as that's the jury for the president. He won't be indicted unlike Manafort and the rest. His Judgement will come through Congress which is a political process.

Trump is playing this straight out of the Clinton playbook. If half the country believes this is a witch hunt the Senate won't have the votes to remove him from office.

So I suggest you start paying attention to the polls

I had given up hope of Trump getting impeached. I can't see a scenario where it happens.
The Dems don't even look like they want it.
Personally, I'd prefer Trump and his ideals being defeated in an election.

Yeh beating him in an election will be the best outcome. But as long as he's president he won't face any ramifications
