Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

They've caught one of the leakers. Speculation is that its a staffer who used to work for Feinstein.

Really seems like shit's about to get nastier by the minute. Not saying this staffer didn't do something wrong but you know Trump and Co are now looking for anything to delegitimize the Dems and in Trump's mind thereby the Mueller investigation.

The Jim Wolfe indictment:

Twitter feverishly attempting to identify the particpants. So far:

MALE-I - Carter Page
REPORTER #1 - Still unidentified
REPORTER #2 - Ali Watkins (formerly with Buzzfeed, now with the NY Times)
REPORTER #3 - Probably Mariana Sotomayor or Kasie Hunt. both of NBC
REPORTER #4 - Still unidentified

Are they going to charge journalists for releasing info?

I think they are only after Wolfe since journos are protected. Wolfe on the other hand had a clearance and was handing out classified information by the boatload, one of which (Ali Watkins) he was in a relationship with (despite being 30 years older). The rest of the reporters are just the subject of twitter speculation as to their identities.

He's been involved with some really shady people. His family's lives might be at risk.

Good point. Its also possible that he knows about some really deep corruption within the Russian state, possibly involving Putin himself, so he may be a bit concerned that flipping would put him in even worse peril.

A few nights in prison should change his mind pretty quickly. Something tells me he hasn't got the stones to handle that kind of environment.

I suspect that not only does he worry about the safety of his family, their friends and their children... he’s probably a lot tougher than he’s given credit for. You don’t operate in the circles he operates in without being able to look after yourself.

I also think the extent of his corruption may extend far beyond what Mueller knows and he may have to divulge previously unknown information. Let's say he flips and dimes Trump and the Russians out in exchange for no jail or very little jail time. He would still have to deal with being hunted down by Putin if he's a free man.

If I were Putin and he was in jail at risk of cracking at any time, I'd have him hit anyway. Would be easy in jail. Manafort should take his chances in witness protection.

With the seriousness of his charges, he won’t avoid jail time whatever happens. It’ll just be reduced to 3/5/7 years.

You never know, if he really did have something to bring down a president then they could be tempted. It wouldn’t be the first time a vile cnut walked free.

Surely he'd be held in a separate area of a county or federal jail due to his profile. Might even be housed on a military installation pending trial(s). If he does end up in prison he may very well end up at a max facility but in a special wing for high profile types.

I'm surprised Manafort hasn't been bumped off already to be honest.

He's seventy years old, they could make it look like a heart attack or whatever and they'd have absolutely no consequences.
