Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

2 more years for Arsene it looks like.

They want Wenger In, Wenger out, In, out, in, out and shake it all about. He's won the F.A Cup so he can turn it round, that's what its all about.

I'll get my coat....

It's only a ban on registering players. They can sell whoever they want and buy whoever they want, the bought ones just can't be registered or played in matches until the winter. So we can still buy Grieizmann however Griezmann might decide to stay so he's not leaving tgem.in the lurch.

The ban was appealed and lost so its a case of them finding a way to overturn it which wont be easy. They'll want to overturn it as they want Lacazette and if Griezmann leaves Costa too.

Yeah this was my reasoning. I don't think it's "100% confirmed" that Griezmann would stay if there was no lift in the ban, but that was the impression i got from some of the earlier reporting, even before the french interview.

I think a few transfers rely on the ban being lifted and griezmann then moving.

He's likes the club and the manager so unless they can get a good deal out of his transfer he's not going to leave. A good deal is one where they can replace him and then some, unless that ban is lifted that isn't going to happen.

Ander Herrera to rebuff Barcelona advances and commit his future to Manchester United

Sounds like contract renegotiations, zero truth to his links to Barcelona
Not much of a stand point when the player you think is using a team comes out and says no.

A Spaniard rejecting Barca to stay with us! Make him the Captain Jose!

Great news!
closest we got to a homegrown player that hates our rivals these days.

When your agent complains that his player isn't being respected in the last year of his contract and yet his contract is extended in light of only rumours linking him to Barcelona (Primarily due to Valverde) & a host of other unsubstantiated links then I'd say it works quite well - and not the first time players/agents do this

Haven't seen Herrera's agent complain, when was this?

So why have Mundo Deportivo, Sport and now the Madrid media all run the story of Valverde's interest? Its not the English press that started these rumors you know?

Exactly. Where are these Herrera's unhappy stories? I haven't seen them in either the English or Spanish media.

Where did I point out that it was English media starting anything? And Sport as a credible source? These rumours are a combination of a player entering the last year of his contract, a former coach being linked to his new job and an agent doing his job for his client.

I trust credible Barcelona sources and this rumour of Herrera was shot down from when it started by Romero, Torres et al

Quick one - those going crazy over City building the most unbeatable team ever and how we are in for Perisic and he is nowhere near their standard of signing - that's 65 million quid on 2 goalkeepers Pep will have spent - one of them already deemed a failure in Bravo- just because they are signing players don't mean they are going to be good, wait until we're a month in and they are running away with the league playing like Barcelona mark II.... oh wait.

My point being is have a little perspective . Mourinho rarely gets it wrong in the transfer market so have a little patience. He's had the odd dud in his time but overall his record is phenomenal .

Pep has a relatively poor transfer record. He bungles it a lot in the transfer business. But it looks like he might be turning a corner. Jesus and Sane were good buys. Now he's got Silva too.

So MD devoted an editorial to Herrera for fun then? http://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbo...elsa-valverde-van-gaal-zaragoza-atheltic.html

Right, cos they do that for so many players not on Barcelona's radar (explicitly mentioning in the piece that the player in question would fit in at Barca.)

You are starting to sound like the Catalan version of Guillem Ballague.

Can you post these denials? I'm pretty sure they would have been posted on a Utd forum already.
Thanks.

What does MD or Sport reporting about a Spanish player have to do with it being a credible link? There are stories on hundreds of players each season, few are credible

As we both know MD tends to have a decent line on what Barca is planning. That is a lengthy column on Herrera, not the kind of thing MD does for players in foreign leagues every day, and it says Barca are interested.

Are you now trying to make out that MD is a bad source for Barcelona news? Really?

Choose to believe what you want. Its coming across very much like a lad who sees a girl he likes with someone else and then pretends he never liked her anyway.

Alternate world.

Herrera has 2 years left on his contract. He has one year left and club has option to extend by one more year.

Erm sure - if you ignore the homegrown players who just got criticised for singing anti-City songs after the Europa cup final

Where are these links about his agent complaining that he isn't being respected?

I'm also curious to read what Herrera's agent said.

Haven't been able to find it, it was a short quip from his agent from the winter when speculation was mounting the player was unhappy going into the final year of his contract and no negotiations had begun
