Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

We should offer them Lukaku for Sanchez, then send Stormzy down to do the medical and sign the paperwork.
:lol::lol:
Imagine the reaction of AFTV. Ty will still defend Stormzy saying he is better than lukaku.

It's frustrating that we're not in for Sanchez. We should be going for a player of his calibre.

:(

May be because we have 2 left wingers at the moment. May be we wont match the salary because of next summer's targets.

Yep. Sterling also has a lot of upside and City have a lot of money so it wouldn't at all surprise me if it happened as Pep is under immense pressure to start delivering some silverware.

Well I'd be surprised, but fair play to Arsenal if they get a deal like that done, would likely be their crowning glory this season however, sad times for them.

Pressure is getting to the baldy, trying to cover up his shortcomings by stocking with every world class player possible.

I don't think they'll finish top 4 or win Europa.

Impossible to predict at this point. You can't really look at the first few fixtures and extrapolate a final league position. Otherwise our first three last year would've been a clear sign that we'd finish top 4.

Yeah that's also possible but at the same time as Fergie used to say if a world class player becomes available - you got try and get him.

As for salary levels, we've let go of Rooney, BFS, Depay, and few others.

Well no that isn't the case at all. It's been clear for months he has no future at Everton and Chelsea would be an amazing opportunity for him and he's every chance of progressing under Conte who would instill tactical knowledge that so far he hasn't been taught.

What isn't the case?

Barkley has a future at Everton if he wants. Koeman would ideally want him to stay. Not like Everton are getting rid of him.

He's going to have some disgruntled players who need to play consistently leading up to the WC. If I were Spurs, I would inquire about Sane or Sterling.

It's a smart move to ask for Sterling because he's the obvious weakest attacking link compared to the rest. Most likely to be booted or lose playing time.

We have also got the likes of mkh lukaku lindelof matic to our squad plus ibrahimovic. If we want griezmann surely we will pay him big bucks too.

Even if they get Sanchez - City will still have shoddy defence and the likelihood is - Kompany will get injured again at some point. It doesn't really change anything for them. Attacking hasn't really been their problem after all.

Arsenal have played this really badly IMO, right now with the start they have had selling Sanchez would absolutely kill the fans and would lead to crazy scenes at the Emirates , on the other hand keeping a player who doesn't want to be there & missing out on 50-60 million makes no sense . They should have either just sold him a month back or made it clear that they wouldn't sell at any cost

If they really get sanchez that would put city's spending around 300 m pounds in a single window. In PSG territories.

Well, the only thing I can think of is that we have a deal in place for Griezmann in January or the summer. Otherwise, I can't really see why we wouldn't. I know we got the money. Also, he's a player who's got 1 in 2 goal scoring ratio in the PL. I can't see Jose not liking him tbh.

In all honesty I predicted it before the season began. Despite what people say the Thursday Europa league games are incredibly taxing and Arsenal have always struggled after Wed/tues games. They are either going to sell their best player or keep him there unhappy, they seem to be selling their defence and Wenger thinks he has better players than he has. (Ozil, Xhaka)

Sorry, derailing the thread here but yeah I think they'll have a very tough season.

Pep's Plan is to dump 2-3 goals with his posession and kill the game in 60 mins only, so they score 4-5 in games.

If you were Spurs you'd quickly realise that paying the £180k weekly salary that Sterling earns would lead to a squad revolt.

If City get Sanchez, then we might as well all pack it in. Aguero, Jesus, De Bruyne, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Sanchez, Sane and maybe Sterling. That is plain ridiculous

I hope so. I think that's a shit plan in my opinion to be honest. Yeah, when you've got peak Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Alves, Busquets that may work 80% of the time but city don't have one player of that quality. I mean Aguero is up there but he's the only one in my opinion.

Also at Barca he had a decent defence. At City, apart from Kompany it's still so vulnerable.

I think they are capable of getting some defenders, Evans also would be a good purchase and he would prefer the move, They could demand mangala from city as well or somewhere in europe.

I cannot stand posts like this I'm sorry. The reality is never ever this way, so why do people continue to believe it?

Aye and then you'd be shoehorning half of them in. There is 10 outfield spots and quite frankly if he plays all of those players they'd end shipping goals left right and centre.

So what is the reality? There'll be players on the pitch to change games and players in abundance to come off the bench to influence games if need be. That's how I see it.

"We may as well all pack it in." That is an absolutely pathetic statement and this fear everyone has of City and other clubs who front load their squad is ridiculous. The fact is City cannot defend properly and will concede goals, doesn't matter who they have up front. The Premier League is never a walk in the park no matter what players you have.

The pack it in was an obvious hyperbole. The fact of the matter is, attack is best form of defense. They don't need to have a good defense with an attack like that.

Not a totally shit plan, EPl teams pretty much park the bus against these tactics and try to frustrate the opponents, All it takes is one goal to open up the game and then they can score 2-3-4 goals ,

Though is feel this league this league still give you tough times and inconsistancy in few games whoch could lead them to drop crucial points in title race relative to a consistant opponent which basically are counter attacking teams like chelsea united's or even liecester' city that year.
