Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Some of the deals being mentioned is just crazy :wenger: How are we still not in for anyone or at least trying, especially Sanchez. I'd be annoyed if Lemar ends up at pool, and Sanchez ends up at City. Looks like our rivals will improve, apart from Arsenal.

You said rivals.

He won't go most likely, there're rumours here that he's turned into absolute pussy and he's simply milking the PSG contract, refusing to go somewhere else, as there have been offers on the table for him. He and his gold digger missus are both obsessed with fashion and all that shit and that's why they want to stay in Paris. Nawałka (our NT coach) seems to be fed up with this and didn't call him up for the upcoming matches.

Lol, wtf, Sanchez is better than Sterling so cash should be to Arsenal.
Sanchez is miles better, but also only has 1 year left on his contract, is 6 years older and isn't a home grown English player. I'm surprised to see so many confused by that tweet as Sterling in these circumstances is worth more than Sanchez.

Sanchez scored 24 goals and assisted 10 last season. Sterling scored 7 goals and assisted 6 last season.

Who is worth more in that context?

City want to buy Sanchez more than Arsenal want to sell him, and Arsenal would prefer Aguero. Why would they pay money as well as Sanchez for someone they're not that keen on? Onus should be on the buying club to make a deal rather than the buying club making it look like they're doing Arsenal a favour by saying "right, give us some cash as well as your best player and you can get a player who isn't even a first team regular for us".

Last years performance isn't the only indicator of a players value. I mean Miki in his last season at Dortmund scored 23 goals and assisted 32, so he should have cost us £100m. Sterling is 6 years younger, is home grown, cost £50m and most importantly has a much longer contract than Sanchez's (1 year), so yes Sterling is imo worth more in this market.

"Why would they pay money as well as Sanchez for someone they're not that keen on?"- Says who? Reports earlier said that Arsenal wanted Sterling, but City didn't want to sell. Yes, the onus is on City, but reports suggest that Arsenal are the ones asking for City players, while City want to offer straight cash. So if that is true, City can ask for money+Sterling for Sanchez. The fact that Arsenal are entertaining a Sanchez sale suggests that everything Wenger and the club released about Sanchez staying was just posturing.

It's really just about age, contract length and English premium.

I think it'd be great for Arsenal if they could salvage losing Sanchez by getting Sterling.

Why on earth would Sterling agree to this move though? It makes no sense for him. He left a perennially under achieving team and I don't think he'll want to join another perennially under achieving team now. Doubt he'd get the same wages either.

I thought they wanted Aguero but City said no? Of course City would prefer straight cash but Arsenal wouldn't accept that so close to deadline when it doesn't look like they're going to be able to bring in a replacement due to the Lemar stuff collapsing.

Yeah, that is what I think too. I think ultimately nothing will happen and City will be left with a pissed off player and will sign Sanchez on a free next summer.

I've seen tweets of them wanting Aguero and others saying Sterling. If Arsenal didn't want to sell so close to the window, they could have either have sold him a month ago, or not sell him at all. The fact that they've decided to sell this late in the window is poor management, if they haven't got a replacement ready and shouldn't change the market value of Sterling.

Feck, all these tweets - and feck all about United!

Our end to transfer window is a damp squib.

But even in those circumstances Sanchez is worth more, add in City are the buying club so should be trying to offer something decent.
