If City get him they'll surely win the league. Unfortunately it doesn't look like Arsenal have any viable alternative options now PSG have cooled their interest, so they may well take the money and hand the title to Pep.

Certainly possible but the Arsenal fans would be livid beyond belief. The resulting protests would make the ones of last year look positively tame in comparison and I doubt very much Arsene could survive it.

Barca should honestly calm down and use a few years to re build. 140 million for Coutinho is embarrasing.

They can't rebuild while Messi is in his prime. Would be a total waste. They are forced to splash the cash!

So Barca have 222m and can't sign anyone except for the Spurs reject from China?

Yeah that's why I can see why Liverpool are hesitant to sell Coutinho even for an exhorbitant fee.

The way things are going - 4 out of top 5 leagues in Europe you can pretty much guarantee who is going to win the league this year.

I'd be delighted if Liverpool reject that ridiculous offer.

WHU made an offer to Sunderland to get Ndong. Discussions are going between both clubs.

Think they are making a big mistake. Just wait until they do want rid and cannot get even half of that.

They are basically morons. If Barca are indeed offering that much, they could turn buy 3 quality players over the next couple of windows and take the squad to an entirely new level. Losing him could be mitigated if they keep the rest of their key players healthy until Jan.

Not every player denied a transfer then goes on to have a Suarez like season.

I just hope this blows up in Liverpool's face.
I don't think he is anywhere near the quality of Suarez. They should be biting Barca's hand off. He is a good player, nowhere near great.

Think they are just trying to make themselves look big by standing up to Barcelona.

Yep which is why Coutinho is so desperate to leave. Unlike Suarez, probably realises the opportunity probably won't come around again. Hopefully this will cause some discontent in the Liverpool dressing room.

I bet John Henry is dying to accept it.

Of course he is. Henry would drive Coutinho the airport himself if he could, even for the latest bid. He knows he can't, however, as they've had a horrid transfer window so far and there'd be a fan revolt at Anfield.

Barcelona are just unlucky that Liverpool themselves are inept are getting players in.

Think this is the main point. They will big up keeping him out of Barca's clutches to cover up their own ineptitude in signing new players.
