Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Why sign a 6 year deal? Utterly brainless decision by Alli/ his agent and probably music to the ears of Levy when he signed it. Good luck with following your ambitions/ moving to a bigger club in the next 2-3 years.

Find a club that is willing to go less than 5 years on young players.

Still got a contract until 2022 though, it's gonna take huge money and him kicking up an almighty fuss for Levy to even remotely consider selling him to a PL rival.

Yeah unless Spurs catastrophically fail this year, they won't selling Alli to the PL for sure.

If we manage to sustain the form we've been building since game one of pre-season and we shape a core that will put us on the same level of the likes of Real, Barca, Bayern, Juventus (I think on paper we are just there, but we haven't proved it), could next summer see us buying 2 or 3 players that will immensely improve the little cracks of quality difference between us and the top 5 teams across Europe?

We need Shaw to step up and nail his LB spot, Martial to be consistent over the entire season. If those two were to happen then the only area to improve would be RW and RB back up/improvement.
Let's assume we have the financial power to go toe to toe with other financial power houses like PSG, Real and City. Say Alli could be priced away from Tottenham for £150m, give or take. Do we see him as massive improvement to our squad? How well will he fit our team? Would we still go for Greizman? Would he see us as a stepping stone to go to Madrid or Barca (if they are to magically come out of the whole they just fell in)?

What City are crying out for is another attacking player

This is what I've thought all summer, but then I watched Sane and Sterling against Everton and realised why it is Pep still wants Sanchez. Probably wants more consistency on the wing, Sanchez gives you that.

You mean the Sane, who started at LB and the Sterling who started on the bench and scored the equalizer, cause they already have too many attacking players?

Note the word 'consistency'. Would you choose Sane or Sterling over Sanchez? If Pep has the chance to get Sanchez, he'll take it.

I'm sure there's dozens of defenders they can bring in who are far superior to both, it's so obvious they're just trying to improve their home grown quota. Shameless way to go about it, like when Chelsea bought Parker and Sidwell. Surely the mugs they are targeting realize that.

Was just about to make the same point.

Surprised Everton didn't manage to offload Barkley to them for £50M at the beginning of July, tbh.

He's very slow and has back problems. Typical Klopp defensive signing.
