Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I can see why Pep is interested, he's far more composed than Stones and arguably better on the ball too. He would form a great partnership with Kompany if the latter manages to stay injury free.

If Jonny can get a move to City, good luck to him. Working under Guardiola, with the chance to win trophies, isn't to be sniffed at. He owes us nothing. He's clearly a cracking lad who loves the club. I'd like to think he could spend a few years there and still retire a very popular former United player.

I'm just going to close my eyes, put my fingers in my ears, hum loudly and hope this goes away.

Evans is a good player, I rate him. Really hope he doesn't go there but don't blame him if he does

Yeah at the end of the day we got rid of him, he's well within his rights to try and win stuff elsewhere without getting any abuse.

Wouldn't like to see it though, always liked Evans

I'd be sad to see Jonny go to City. He's a better defender than any of their cbs apart from Kompany. Wouldn't be shocked if he's brought in to just be a backup tbh  I wouldn't hold it against him tbh, especially since I think West Brom will be in a relegation scrap this season.

Evans is a good player but so was Dejan Lovren at Southampton. West Brom play some of the most defensive football in the league, no hate on Evans but if he played in a City system where he gets almost no protection he'd be woefully exposed and that's the same issues he had for us.

You can't compare how he does in a West Brom side to how he'd do in a City side they are the complete opposites in terms of defensive system and protection

Be very disappointing if Jonny ends up at City. Another annoying mistake by LVG.

Lol people trying to mock Everton for overspending on Sigurdsson. You want to mock someone, mock Chelsea for this. £40m for Drinkwater would be absolute madness. Gotta fill that home grown quota

Would happily have Kyrchowiak and Lucas Moura from the PSG fire sale. Doubt we'll be in for either .

Pep has a terrible record of signing centre-backs. Can't see Evans being a success there with little to no protection from midfield.

People are mocking this one on Twitter but it'd be a very shrewd signing.

Bet those people haven't seen him play more than 5 games since he went to West Brom. By far their best player when he's fit (though he is quite injury prone)

Why would we need Krychowiak now we have Matic?

EDIT: Nm, didn't realise you were a Scouser

They will be laughed at aswell, we just don't want to jump the gun like some.

Exactly this. I easily understand the hard feelings about seeing him in City shirt but don't understand people worrying about him improving their defense. Their defensive system is their main problem and not due to individual errors. Pep is the one who needs to improve his defensive system first before signing a defender.

I don't expect him to succeed there at all tbh.

Honestly, Evans should move there if possible. Hes too good for WBA and would strengthen City quite a bit. I always liked him and he deserves to be challenging for the league. Shame he played with dross at MK Dons otherwise he may still be here.

Borussia Dortmund sign U21 European Champion LB/RB Jeremy Toljan from Hoffenheim for €5M. Yes there is no zero missing or something. Five million Euros.

Think his contract was due to expire next summer, but it's still an absolute bargain.

Yes next summer, but there still has to be some release clause, cause that is just ridiculous, especially with the potential millions for Demeble outstanding. Finally a smart signing by Dortmund. Now if they could nab Keita from RBL next summer, they´d have a brilliant core. He´s the missing piece imho. Keita and Weigl in DM.

Evans isn't exactly quick so he'll be regularly exposed like the rest of their central defenders playing the sort of system they do.

The ship has sailed. Seriously wish this Ronaldo stuff would feck off.

Evans is better overall ball playing defender than what they have besides Kompany.

Would hate him to go there.
when Chelsea was being linked to Stones I always said that he was basically an English Jonny Evans. I actually now come to realise that was harsh on Evans.

Had a feeling something would emerge regarding Ronaldo after his red card and 5 match ban.
