Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

It's just stupid to suggest that the only people that don't rate the guy have not seen him play.

I am sure some people who have watched him maybe don't see why we would want him. I guess you can't please everyone but let's not forget that it's what Mourinho thinks of him at the end of the day. Furthermore We are all entitled to our opinions & My post wasn't meant in any way as a disrespect to those who don't rate him, I just don't understand it and disagree with it.

It isn't stupid to suggest that the majority of people who criticise him here have barely seen him play.
It really is.

It's just another silly straw man argument that aims to distract from any mature conversation.

It's like the ones about him being too old, weird sounding name and all the other nonsense thrown around when someone dare suggests that they are not entirely convinced by him.

But that's perfectly fine.

I didn't have any problem with your post.

We can watch one player and hold two different viewpoints on him. But for the poster I quoted to simply say people don't rate him because they have no seen him play is just pure nonsense.

It really isn't. He plays for Inter Milan. How often are their games broadcast in the UK, where the majority of the Cafe is based?

That argument is stupid for the fact that even most of the people advocating for him would fall into the same bracket.

Hence the often repeated 'But Jose wants him'

Hence is irrelevant factor in this argument.

PSG playing the transfer market like I do in Football Manager with the official editor that allows me unlimited transfer funds and budgets. Madness.

I absolutely love the meltdown on here, over PSG's spending. :D
It's like seeing the rich kid pissed off, because his mom told him that she can't afford the most expensive toy, which the other rich kid is getting.
Suck it up guys. Accept that there is a new player in town. I know it hurts, but that's life.

You didn't answer me. The answer is 'not often'. So where are these people watching him play on a regular basis?

eh? weird analogy.

You're welcome at my house, Luke. I will offer you a homemade and well balanced meal.

It means that neither of those for or against his signing fall into the same criteria.
Thus making it an irrelevant thing.

Of those watching him, and they certainly are a number of them (Not just from his time in Italy but even as far back as Germany) people will hold different views on him as a player.

It's just a lazy argument to try and categorize everyone that doesn't want him as having not seen him. Because even as mentioned, some of those that want him havent either.

Again, you have avoided the question. I'll just leave it here.

Got to say this summer has been one of the worst for transfers driven by nothing other than pure greed in my opinion. Players not getting their own way just downing tools to try and force a move. Clubs moaning about players having their heads turned then they go and do the same. Liverpool with Virgil van Dyke then moan about Couthinio. Barca moan about Neymar then do something similar to unsettle Dembele.

I think it's the same every summer. The difference now is we have social media. We now have hourly updates by journalist and agents so we are aware of everything that is happening when it happens. Players can voice their opinion without the club knowing and the clubs feel like they have to make a statement so not to lose face. Footballers 9/10 goes to a club that pays them more.

20 years old, one good season, 10 goals, and he skipped training, and is unsettled. God, these kids footballers these days, such primadonnas, I miss good old days. Maybe I'm old. Or old fashioned. Ay, that's it.

Or maybe you're just morally decent mate. Most young players these days are little shit bags.

I don't understand this negativity toward Perisic, I've watched him a few times. A part of my family are big AC Milan fans and we all agree he is an absolute monster of a player & exactly what we need, I have no doubt that if he does move to United he will be a big hit and he will absolutely terrorize PL defenders and supply Lukaku with the service he needs from the flanks. He's even ideal for a player like Darmian who is sound defensively but offers little going forward. I really hope he finally makes the move to Old Trafford as i believe he is the final piece of the jigsaw. I would take him over Mahrez and Moura any day of the week.
I have seen a little of Perisic but mainly for Croatia. Which to be fair is not a fair reflection of his game. I always thought he was ok, you know a good player not a great player. Based on, like, maybe 4 or 5 games. So like most I hunted him out a little more, once the link to us was so public and managed to see a few more games and of course the chelsea preseason. The lad can play. I keep hearing he is a "defensive winger" he is not. He is however clever and covers well but is a real threat going forward in his own right and obviously with assists/crosses.

I'd like to see him here and if he could replicate his Inter form there will be a lot of people on here eating humble pie...

To be fair on them they'b probably be happy to be wrong.

But for the poster I quoted to simply say people don't rate him because they have no seen him play is just pure nonsense.
But a lot of posters here, have wrote him off and admitted they have not seen much if any of his play.

So it's basically a battle between Dembele and Coutinho, who can totally alienate their club first. I'm rooting for Coutinho.

Seeing as they've just received £200m, yeah they will.

I always thought they were super reluctant to spend big on anyone other than an assured world class player (i.e. Neymar) and did their very best to pay way under MV for players. Now they've just thrown silly money on Paulinho so that's 35-40m already. And they need to address other weaknesses in their squad like defence. Could be wrong though..
