How are we responsible for inflating the market at that time? Real paid the money.

Us selling Ronaldo at that price pushed up transfer fees for other players. Clubs looked at what United got for Ronaldo and started asking for higher fees for less talented players. We as a club had the right to ask for that price for a player who we considered to be a huge talent, Real Madrid felt that he was worth what they were willing to pay. See, both clubs were responsible for driving up the transfer fees, not just 1 club. It's very simple to understand if you think rationally.

Wonder what Barca will do now about Coutinho? Still don't think he leaves but it's a nice little disruption to the start of their season.

If he is at the point where he is submitting official transfer requests, it means he is as good as gone imo
Barca are offering a fair market price for him and its not like they are selling him to a direct competitor, its just a matter of time before they get their man

Yikes, its all coming tumbling down like a house of cards at the moment. I cant figure out if this is going to make it harder or easier to make decent signings in the rest of the window. On the one hand prices are going to be crazy, but on the other there is probably going to be a lot of pretty quick movement as there is an absolute ton of money in the market...

This could make for one of the best deadline days in recent years. (or the worst I guess...)

Dembele wants Barcelona but Madrid have offered more cash plus a player in their offer for Dembele.

This is probably just a ploy by Real Madrid to make Barcelona pay even more money for Dembele.

Haha that would be the funniest outcome of them all. Dortmund have been after Varane and Isco in the past.
