Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Yeah? And was involved in winning a top 5 league. What I said was not wrong.
Vardy was involved in winning the best league in the world. How much is he worth?

Got to give it to PSG they remind me of what I thought Ed Woodward was going to do when he said "We can do things in the transfer market that other clubs can only dream of. Watch this space."

That was when ffp was a thing. With ffp a joke, the oil barons are in a league of their own. Wenger in 2006 said in 10 years they'll be one of the biggest financial powers in football too, because he anticipated ffp succeeding and it simply didn't.
We were signing Di Maria over them when PSG were some what hamstrung.

PSG showing us that you don't necessarily have to be Barca or Madrid to attract the best. We better have a big fat rabbit(s) lined up under our hat before the window closes !!!

If Monaco get a figure like those mentioned for Mbappe, they're bound to have set a record for sales in one window that'll never be beaten. (For the foreseeable future anyway)

Leicester accepted a bid for him last year, so whatever that was. Key difference being the 11 year age gap.

Anyway I was not talking about prices, but to say he's done nothing is bizarre. He's won a league and been in a team that's gotten to the champions league semi's. He's not don't nothing.

I actually quite like this PSG thing. It's disruptive and funny and a great fingers up at Madrid and Barcelona. Happy to see money spread around another country. One team in a league doesn't make a league. Monaco have sold out so not even sure they have players left lol. Fabinho may as well come on a free once Monaco fold the club lol. They have already sold most of their assets. Just the closing down sale to go lol.

Still not worth the money being quoted.

I dunno, his signing bonus and/or wages will be pretty big.
Of course, but his value in this market is probably somewhere between £60-80m and he'd have been on pretty healthy wages anyway.

Winning a top 5 league is such a weak statement.
5TH. It is 5th. A distant 5th at that.

Atlético don´t negociate for Oblak. If someone wants him, will have to pay the clause

Neymar and Mbappe would win PSG the CL.

PSG play in a relatively weak league. They don't need to play at a very high level in the French League, about the only times they face any tough opponents are in the CL. I think it's a natural disadvantage for them in trying to win the CL.

We can do it , without the owners oil money if we concentrate our efforts on it.

Can we have some exciting tweets related to us please? This summer has been so boring Lukaku aside. I know it's shallow but once a muppet always a muppet.

You do make sense and then, at the same time, you don't. There's breaking the league's records over time to buy 1 player per season, while investing less into younger talent; and there's systematically overpaying for average players, thanks to inflation, thanks to more money in football. Just breaking a league record can't be judged out of context. Chelsea and City were buying players too once the money came but they didn't break the market per se. There is a reason Barca put that clause at 200+m, thinking it's way out of reach for the market...my 2p

Every time someone breaks the record, be it domestic or international, the price will increase for other players. United have done their part in breaking that record so many times, so I'm not going to be a hypocrite and have a go at other clubs for signing someone they wanted, for a price they were happy to pay. If United want to go and get Mbappe or Dembele for huge amounts of money, I am happy with that too.
