Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I don't know you

The sooner he leaves that lot, the better

Re:Kessie. The whole point of the loan deal structure is that his transfer fee doesn't go on the books until 2019. They're starting to pay the fee immediately though
 Atlético are harmless, and it's good that top players do not leave la liga. I don´t know how much United paid, but I guess the salary difference is several million every year

Surely it would be much easier to just buy him in January?
It's a sort of an insurance, that no one else will jump in or he won't change his mind. And he stays to help the team until the ban is uplifted.

Hang them all!

Ridiculous comment, so you think they did nothing wrong, perhaps a few could be put down to mistakes but not 64:wenger:

If they were in this situation because say, a player or players were ruled out for a long time I could understand him sticking by them but not because they broke the law 64 times, it's ridiculous and if I was the press I'd ask him why he thinks it's a good idea to stay for that reason.

what if there were some illegalities that would have been exposed were he to leave... All the contract and permutations are gone over with a fine tooth comb... Conspiracy!

My only concern with that is it gives the higher ups yet another excuse not to invest in a striker. It'll be "well, they are waiting on Ibra and Griez in January". Don't like this idea. We need a player of the caliber we can get with Ibra's wages in the summer. $300,000 a week is Neymar level. We shouldn't be spending it on Ibra, especially when he's injured.

Another excuse not to buy a striker? When has this club ever been shy of spending money on a striker?

Also do you really expect a crocked Zlatan to demand £300,000 a week for 6 months of his contract injured? If we get him on a deal like that it will be heavily reduced basic wage and heavily incentivised and I'm sure he'd bite our hand off for it.

Since the Moyes era and the fading away of RVP, it's been clear United have needed a world class striker, possibly two. You could argue Ibra was the ideal option for free last year. But outside of him, United have really pulled back the spending on quality strikers in recent years. It's part of the reason we've stopped scoring goals. We require at least two attackers this summer, even if Ibra stays.

What is a "two year loan with obligation to buy"? Sounds a lot like just buying the player and having payment deferred.

Edit: Beaten by Sigma by seconds...

I think he's on loan because the Chinese investors have inherited a company that have much more costs than revenues (2016 profit after tax: - 74 mln)..
So probably they prefer to postpone this payment to not burden the balance

That's clearly not down to the "higher ups" as you call them. That's a Manager decision. You can't blame them for not spending when you consider our purchases and assume they don't want to spend on a striker, that's just daft. Mourinho highlighted how important he feels a striker is by doing all he could to get Zlatan and the "Higher ups" happily funded his exorbitant wages.

How is it daft? I contend United wouldn't have bought Ibra if his transfer fee was 20m plus wages. We've cut down on the squad numbers significantly in recent years. And we should be spending significantly this summer to make up for it.

Milan look like they are developing a good team then. Wonder if they're new found wealth will get them challenging for the league soon. They are going about it the right way it seems i.e. signing good young talent rather than blowing their load on players on high wages looking for an easy ride

Milan mean business next season and it's about time. New owners, new management, about 200 million bucks might be spent this summer to buy new players. Juventus has completely dominated the last 6 years. No competition at all. I am a fan of Serie A. Sad to see the league decline over the years. Would be great to see Milan and Inter get back to their A game.

Still does not add up to me. The CAS ban surely came up during our discussions with Griezmann. It smells of Griezmann trying to leave AM on good terms more than anything. Watch him say things like "I thought long and hard about the move" or "the club gave me their best wishes" or "it was in the best interests of everyone" when he signs for us. In fact, these reactions were probably planned by us, Greizmann and his sponsors/advisors when the CAS verdict was out..if the verdict was different then they would have released different statements to suit the current narrative.

I've been saying this.

Really spot on IMO. The real core of the whole drama.

Feck sake looks like Salah's agreed terms with Liverpool, just the fee to sort out. He'll be electric in that team.

Could make it easier to get Bale?

Depends how petty Bale is. Since he's been injured so long and Isco's been in great form he would have to be a complete narcissist to actually get angry over that decision. And if he's that angry, is that the type of player we'd want on the team? It's one thing if he was angling for a move prior to this decision and this just pushed him over the edge but if this is the sole reason for him to leave Madrid (after he's been so defensive about his position there the past few years) it just seems unlikely.

Only way I see this happening is if Madrid is deadset on Mbappe and selling Bale will allow them to offer an insane package for him. Of course Bale should only be like 70M at most since he's injury prone and not as young as when they bought him.

I honestly do expect if he signs on it will be at the same conditions as his current contract which is £340k a week.

I agree, growing up the two great sides I remember were Liverpool (which was painful as a kid) and Milan, reading about them and then seeing them on Channel 4 in the early days the likes of Baresi in the twilight of his career, Maldini, Rossi, Cafu, Weah, Van Basten, Boban, ALbertini, Papin...all the way through to Gattuso, Kaka, Pirlo...they always seemed to have fantastic exciting players and the San Siro looks amazing on tv as well. Sad to see how poor they have been for what must be a decade now.

I don't watch a great deal of Serie A, but just looking over his stats looks like he's been tearing it up there.

How different is he to Perisic? Who'd be a better fit for us?

I don't watch enough of Inter to really comment on Perisic but Salah's definitely quicker and a better finisher. Salah isn't the most technically gifted winger around, still very decent though, he makes up for it with really effective dribbling and excellent runs in behind and that's why he would suit Liverpool so well. He wouldn't get the same kind of space at United but I'd definitely rather sign him than Perisic.

Sorry but I would give De Gea plus 20m for Bale. Call me crazy but we dont NEED a world class keeper as evidenced by Romero what we have to get right now is an injection of real quality in the attack and Bale would do exactly that.

Teams can win trophies with decent keepers e.g. Navas, they cant if they have shit attackers.
