Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Another idiot.

You´ll never get respect at Chelsea once that loaning crap has started. Refuse, run down/sell, leave. Solanke already has a completely different standing at Liverpool, cause he is their player. No top club has an incentive to invest into a Chelsea loan player. You either trust a player like United did with Rashford, play and develop, or you´ll be a loan bitch for the rest of your career. When has a player ever returned from a loan and become a huge part of the mother club? Look at Morata. Look at DeBruyne. They did well at a high level and did it matter? Nope. Players like Abraham are fools, if they think Chelsea will ever give them a chance, because they score goals for England, Bristol and Swansea. You need to cut all ties.

Welbeck, Beckham, and Defoe come to mind as players who returned to their clubs as important 1st team players after a loan

EDIT: Actually, the most obvious example is a Chelsea player - Courtois who was on loan at Atletico for 3 years

While the bids are being rejected (and good on Liverpool for doing that) surely this will unsettle Coutinho? Brazilian lad will want to play for one of the top two in Spain. Probably has a bunch of Portuguese/Spanish-speaking friends.

Barcelona are barking up the wrong tree here.

Liverpool were JUST denied their number one transfer target for the summer by a steadfast non-selling club, why on earth are they going to buck such a trend for the benefit of Barcelona?

Philip Lahm comes to mind, Courtois as well.

You point is valid, though.

He's gone man. Once Spanish clubs come calling for one of the Brazilian/Argentinian players - they gone baby, gone.

Barcelona obviously need Coutinho to force this move through, unless they bid crazy money that Liverpool won't reject. Liverpool won't be able to attract a player of a similar ability or standing and we already know they are deplorable at reinvesting transfer fees they receive for their star players, e.g. Suarez money, Torres money.

Probably because Coutinho will be desperate for a move and will start playing potentially damaging tricks to get the move otherwise?

It's not much of a decision, stay at Liverpool hoping to scuff into the top 4 again, or go to one of the few real consistent super powers of the last decade.

He will want to go but not in a million years will Coutinho play dirty tricks to engineer it - all consensus seems to be that he's a genuine humble guy who feels extremely grateful to Liverpool for helping him develop to his current level. Besides, he is 25 and has nothing to lose by showing off in the Champions League for Liverpool and at the World Cup, at which time Barcelona (and whoever else) will be even more desperate for him.

Dirty tricks? Nah he won't do that. I could see him being more straightforward about it though and simply asking for a transfer.
