Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Been away most of today, have we got some concrete links to Lacazette? If so I'm very happy, I absolutely love him, brilliant player tailor made for the premier league, would be an excellent addition to us!

Nah, it's over. At least for this summer. Griezmann has to be willing to join too which isn't likely now. I can't see him leave Atletico behind like that.
I really have a lot of respect for him if the reason he isn't leaving now is because of the ban. It shows that he has some appreciation and loyalty and selflessness about him.

There are a couple of links. As always, nothing the media says should be taken seriously imo, including the latest nonsense about Griezmann.

Yep, some reliable journos from l'equipe said we are ahead of the rest when it comes to his signature. Let's wait and see.

weren't the press claiming we'd agreed to terms with Perisic a few days ago, and only the fee remained. Now they're switching it around?

Nice to hear some reputable journalists have linked us at least but you're right Raoul, no use getting our hopes up until we see them sign on the dotted line, definitely learned my lesson.

If i remember correctly this fella is very reliable when it comes to Italy based players/clubs, and doesn't do gossip. Something must be happening.

yes, he was reporting the same things as Di Marzio about the pogba deal. Di Marzio was simply more detailed about numbers and the like because he's much more connected.

I remember closely following this guy and posting his tweets in the pogba thread.

Or the reported fees for Perisic. Grinds my gears seeing people whine about the reported fees when it's the same sources reporting GriezOFF or Mbappe to City or whatever. I'm becoming less interested in this window more and more. It's all twitter nonsense.

I hope we sign Perisic. Looks to be a fine player and makes more sense than continuing with Martial, Lingard, or Rashford on the left. Who cares how much he cost. It ain't our fecking money.

The best way to deal with windows is to not really believe anything until there are a lot of links from major journos. Once something substantial happens, most big journos jump on it immediately and that's when you know there's something afoot - as opposed to 99% of the tweets in the twitter thread that are just pure speculation and chatter.

Agreed.

Tbf no one really is. There isn't another player of his quality available.
Or may be there is in an unknown club we don't scout, I remember griz playing at united with sociedad when we renewed rooneys contract to 300 k.

Different positions mate.

We need a left winger (and maybe a right).

We need a striker.

We need a central midfielder.

We need a more attacking wingback

Maybe need central defender

Griezmann is a signing everybody is trying to figure out how he fits in. But he is a marquee player and it sends a signal to world football and other potential targets. However we need to create a great TEAM. That requires a lot more new signings in key positions IMO because our current squad is poorly assembled/balanced.

We had/have a deal with Griezmann. Either we fecked up (I refuse to believe that), or Griezmann fecked us or its still on.

I am really sorry guys, but we had or have a deal with Griezmann. If it's him that did not honour the deal, he will never play for us imo. United will lose hell of a lot money if the deal falls and it does look like that now.

Also it's okay that you ban the shit out of me. This feels really bad tbh.

You're a clown. It's good seeing your bullshitting on this forum finally been exposed.

As for the bolded bit that'd be best in interest of this place. Better option would be to calmly walk away with your tail between your legs instead of asking mods to ban you.

Extremely harsh I remember I told friends David Ginola was signing for Celtic. I mean I seen him at Celtic park shook hands with him and actually had a laugh with him. The manager at the time was excited with him as were a few coaches. I then watched him getting his picture taken with a scarf on the pitch side. Then a couple of days later maybe next day I found out he signed for Newcastle. I got pelters for it but in transfers these things happen. It's like giving a tip for a horse (never a certainty) the only thing you can be certain is that we were interested in him. I would not be to harsh on aquire me in my opinion.

Transfers of this magnitude don't usually happen in January, though. Just like (apparently) Griezmann has now chosen to stay at Atletico out of loyalty, I don't think he'd leave in the middle of the season when Atletico wouldn't be able to replace him with a top quality striker.
After sleeping on this. At least he is showing he has some honour and loyalty to Atletico, so some credit to him.

I don't see any of these deals being that likely.

Lukaku will head to Chelsea.

Morata to Milan.

Belotti? Why would United release him for £84m and not Griezmann?

As it stands, I think Bale will be our marquee signing.
We likely were going to pay Griezmann's buyout, then it is up to the lad if he wants to move. If he didn't want to leave them in the lurch there is not a lot we can do about it.

It's a shame that because of the Griezmann situation, whoever we sign now won't be good enough for some. In the end they could be really good players for us, so have to give them a chance.

FFS stop talking about Griezmann, he ain't coming and I don't think he would fit in the formation which Jose wants to use.

Totally agree. Has @Acquire Me been wrong on anything? The transfer ban has scuppered the deal. I think some of the tweets have shown this. Hopefully he'll get news of something else.

52m...fecking hell.

It's at the point you may as well go all in and sign a truly world class left sided winger/forward i.e. Bale or Sanchez. I'm pretty sure 75-80m would land one of those two.

We're just spunking money on the same position over and over again, the team isn't getting better because we're replacing 60m players (Martial) with 55m players (Perisic). Same with Att mid spend 40m on Mata then spend 30 odd mil on Mkhitaryan it's a shambles.

The problem is there's a limited pool of world class players who play that position and most of them are boxed off. Citeh signe Sane last summer, Sterling the summer before, and have taken Jesus. Sanchez will go there or Bayern. Bale and Ronaldo are at Madrid. Coman, Costa, Robben, Ribery at Bayern. Neymar's at Barca.

Who is a realistic target as a left sided attacker and who's actually better than Martial ?

He has been adamant this deal was going through for the last few months, wether the ban stuck or not.
I was never a believer as the ones he has called have all been the obvious ones anyway.

The proof will be in the pudding though as he also claimed a deal for Weigl was in place as well...
