EYE! Coutinho has called on Jurgen Klopp to let him go this summer if or if. Pressure from the Brazilian Liverpool #mercato

Well Gerrard Romero has a good track record, however, he hasn't had a good summer so far.

He had Fabinho to City earlier on. That obviously didn't happen.

Ismaïla Sarr joins Rennes.

It took them 1 year to buy a replacement for Dembélé.

Madrid have gone from almost discarding the signing of Mbappé to going hard for him right now

Thank you.

Be nice to see us get someone in other than Perisic just to feck with Inter for being greedy and having the audacity to demand huge fee+ one of the brightest young talents in football. Obviously someone who will add to the team and not just for spite. But quality+spite would be beautiful.

I think Coutinho is nailed on for next summer. Around 90%, but seems odd timing now so close to the season when a week ago he was happy and going nowhere. Usually this type of transfer goes on throughout the season and all summer.

Hope it does go through though.

Think it might end up like Suarez. One more year and if nothing changes, you're free to go.

I don't see coutinho moving so late in the window tbh.

All it takes is for a couple of massive transfers to happen for all hell to break loose.

Agreed. I can see a few RM players moving after Mbappe joins. Likewise the Neymar to PSG, Coutinho to Barca moves could pre-empt a 100m bid from Liverpool for Naby Keita. I think clubs are slowly realizing that these transfers cannot last. TV revenues in the PL are going down. Sponsorship levels are stagnating and political issues in Qatar and UAE are going to lead to massive financial problems. This is the summer in which they can get the most money for their big players and making deals now could set their entire organization up for the next 5 years or more.

There's more than 1 month to go.
Yeah, but Liverpool don't need to sell and he has around 4 or 5 years left on his contract with no clause. I'm sure he'll end up at Barca, but this is a little too late in the window to get started up and have any realistic chance of happening IMO. If it was happening stuff would have been happening 6 weeks ago.

That's not enough time for Liverpool to find a replacement all of a sudden and have him bed in with the squad ahead of their first match of the season.

Clear as day that we've dropped our interest in him. We had a price that we felt was sensible (and probably generous too) and they've been cheeky and tried to take the piss. We've walked away and they are regretting it and trying to tempt us back.

Sucks for him and for Mourinho since he felt he was a good fit but out of principal it would be nice. Hope we get our midfielder next and if we get Perisic it's a deadline day deal for less than our original bid.

who do you think is better out of the 2? I assume Keita is younger

What I meant was that Inter have tried to rip United off big time: demanding 50m Euro (and not a penny less). Then later Martial plus 30m Euros which would have meant that Martial who is worth at least 50m Euros plus 30m, Inter would be making in the region of 80m Euro. Exactly how stupid or desperate Inter think United are has been show by their belligerent attitude towards us. Now though, they've (probably) realised that United won't be ripped off and their attempt to get a golden windfall from United has failed. With no further approaches from United and their own need to buy new players, news today that United are looking at alternatives (Emil Forsberg), I've read one report that Inter have stopped their aggressive, uncompromising attitude and have dropped their asking price for Perisic to 44m Euros to push the deal through.

Don't know why United are prioritising that side, anyway. They have Martial, who surely must be looking to make that position his own, probably on rotation with Rashford, both as back up for Lukaku down the centre.

The other flank is where United should be looking to improve. But who? If United don't want to spend the Earth on a Dembele or a Dybala there are players out there. Mahrez for £40m, Schick for £30m. Perhaps Asensio if Mbappe goes to Real?

I feel a meal is being made of a situation which could already have been concluded.

And that's the original bid, right? At this point I'd like to go around 6-8m under the original bid to test them and their desperation.

If all this is true I guess Mourinho publicly stating we want two more but will settle for one and a midfielder is a priority really worked and has forced Inter's hand.

Lucas Moura would be a good option on the right.
