Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

God I feel so deflated after that Griezmann tweet. Difficult to see how we'll have a stronger team than last year now considering the available alternatives out there.

Honestly think our summer is fecked over before it even started...

I truely can not see how wewill have sort of improvement next season.

Even they're trying to tell us he's rubbish

We need to be in for Mbappe...

Couldn't agree more.

That kid is insanely good. I am willing to bet he will become the best player in the world in the next 3-4 years if he gets himself into the right team.

Are we not the richest or most valuable club in the world? Come on, let's smash the transfer market. Why can't we go after Mbappe and or Neymar? Get one of them. To be at the very top in world football, you absolutely need at least one X-factor player. Madrid has Ronaldo, Barcelona has Messi, Atletico has Griezmann, Chelsea has Hazard, Bayern has Lewandowski or Robben, City has Aguero. Such players are like magicians. They guarantee you the advantage going into most games.

No, Martial and Rashford did not have a bad season; they are having a season most youngsters have and that is an inconsistent one.

If we take Martial's numbers from his first season as an indication of his level then he would go on to become the next Lionel Messi, but its obvious he is nowhere near that level of player. Something similar can be said about Rashford, he was scoring with almost every shot he took which is obviously not something that is sustainable.

The only one that has under performed goalscoring wise is Mkhitaryan, but he has struggled in the league massively due to the tempo and physicality. In Europe where he is given space and time he is our best goalscorer.

We can substitute the word 'bad' with any other word. The point is that compared to their performances in the previous season, what their counterparts in the teams of our direct rivals offered and also on the basis of what a club of United's standard required to compete at the very top, they under performed.

Yes i agree, we need to get better players in or the current players need to improve. I think both needs to happen in the coming season.

I am not doom and gloom as some on here regarding the transfer season. Herrera and Valencia were among our best performers this season; they arent superstar names but they are good footballers that put 100% on the the pitch.

The problem is that we are playing Fellaini, Lingard and Rashford as key members of our team; they should fall down the pecking order for better players with the right mentality from the transfer market.

As if Mbappe would sign for Arsenal.

Never say never. If that kid is available. We really need to be bidding for him seriously. He has to be the most talented kid playing football today.

Almost every big club in Europe is keen to sign him. There's no way he'd choose Arsenal ahead of everyone else.

One of BBC Correspondents talking there. I think it's Simon Stone.

Morata is going to Milan. Lukaku and Belotti are fairly underwhelming. But there aren't any alternatives so we're kinda screwed.

At this point id throw whatever it takes for Mbappe. Lukaku wouldn't be much cheaper anyway and im not sure about Belotti tbh.

They seem to be just listing the few names they can think of, there's no commitment to any of the names listed and they seem to be totally ignorant of the Morata/Milan news coming out of Italy and Spain.

I'm surprised that Dybala hasnt been mentioned more often, surely Juve would sell for £90-£100m, and that's what the likes of Lukaku and Mbappe are being priced at.

Extended his contract, doesn't like the PL and dreams of Barca.

Considering Juve bought Higuain around that pricetag and don't need the money and have a fantastic striker partnership with Dybala-Higuain, you must be insane to think they would sell to us for any price.

Yea maybay if you go donkshit crazy and offer £200m and offer him a £20m a year contract, it might happen but not really...

No we can't, none of them are creative players that will actually rip open defences for us.

I don't even want Lacazette, Perisic is a small upgrade over Lingard and Belotti is overrated and will struggle to score even half the goals he made this year in the PL. I prefer to even keep Ibra and play like we did this season, those players are simply no improvement over what we have.
Dude we probably won't have Ibra starting games until 2018 and don't be silly, Perisic is much better than Lingard and Belotti is not overrated.

He doesn't like English football, he's spoken down about it a few times iirc. Barcelona or Madrid bound eventually too, imo.

But does that preclude them accepting an offer they cant refuse? Greizman only just renewed less than a year ago.

He extended it just after the passed Barca in CL. Sure taking such move is an insurance to keep him this summer.

Forget him.

Which translates to "I don't want to test myself in a real competitive league, instead I'll stay in my comfort zone and continue to play for teams that won't ever be challenged".

1. Transfer ban was expected to be overturned hence AG saying he would confirm his decision in two weeks, two weeks ago.
2. Decision didnt go as expected AG tells Utd he has to stay at Atleti.
3. Before AG announces his decision Utd brief that we are no longer interested in order to save face and look like it is our decision (as we did with Pedro and numerous others).

Fair summary I reckon.

Pete Jensen says that he thinks Bale will still be a Madrid player next season.
