His job here is done.

He's got people hook line and sinker.

Just ignore him and not derail the thread.

Why are you jumping on Inter? They want to keep their players or get as much as possible for them. Fair play. It's a bit arrogant to get insulted over how much they want from us.

Well....it seems to have been about getting to their price more, which I reckon we would have got to evenutally or near as dam it....but now they appear to have added Martial on loan as part of the deal, I think that is a bit bloody much now and a late change of the goal posts.

Yep, don't get the "feck Inter" stuff. They want as good a deal as possible for their player, as would we if we were in their position.

Inter obviously don't want to sell Persic and they are making ridiculous demands to end our interest. We should take the hint and move on.

Inter wants 50m euros + Martial on loan for Perisic

After Martial's preseason form thus far and especially against Real, Inter can keep their Perisic. The only player they could have is Smalling. We already have quite a few wingers in the squad with Lingard, Rashford, Mata and Mhiki (who can also play on the wing) and Martial.

If we really need to have one more, Lucas Moura could offer a lot of depth. Good player who needs more direction in being a much better player.

I think our best formation would be the one we played against City in the first half. 4-2-3-1. Yes, I'm a huge fan of the 4-3-3 but Mhiki in the No. 10 just stretches any opposition. We would score a lot of goals with Lukaku up top and Martial/ Lingard on the left and Rashford on the right.

Matic and Pogba or a Pogba and Herrera could easily hold down the fort with Lindelof and Bailly in defence.

Or they've seen them spunk endless money over the last 3 years and won next to nothing...
They don't care and its their problem not ours. If they win the title no would care how much they spent in the past. As long as it is not illegal, the game is the game. Fergie did not care how much they spent, he simply reacted and got RVP and bagged the title nicely. Let them spend £1bn, I don't care as long as we do our bit and top them.

I agree but saying there not doing great business isn't 'bitter' as they've bought loads of talent in the last few years and it's gone sour. Same for us.

That's around 430 million euros spend by Guardiola in little over a year.
No matter how big and economically strong our club is, we can not compete with that unlimited expenditure that the city have. They have the budget of a wealthy country to support them.

I agree with this 100%. Good post.

If Citeh add another centre back and central midfielder to their ranks - the squad will look frighteningly strong.

They've got to some how get a back 4, who've never played together before, click - in a month. Not to mention a keeper who won't speak the defence's language and need to settle. I think they will struggle beginning of the season, I wouldn't be particularly worried just yet.

We have been saying that for a few years though and they haven't taken off despite their spending. Maybe they will this year, but I would stake that they will be as strong as ever, they are not turning into unbeatables yet.

Yeah sure Inter, would you like pogba and ddg too:rolleyes:

Pogba and De Gea are both highly-valued members of the team; Martial played a similar number of minutes to Rooney/Jones last season and was publicly criticised by the manager. I'm not sure the analogy holds much water.

I agree with the below posters...

The second they said they wanted Martial we should have ended interest, and hopefully we did.

See that's the point... we dont't want to move on

... we need to publicly end interest and move on. Inter obviously want to keep the player beyond the point of accepting a reasonable bid for him.

They know there's 0 chance of us paying 50m + Martial for Perisic. They are not even trying to get an actual deal out of this. They are seeing our persistence for Perisic as interference that is unsettling their player and are responding in kind by involving Martial in the rumours.

Perisic has not slapped a transfer request or made any fuss. Unless that changes, we need to just back off and move to the next one.

When have the club ever actually publicly stated that they want Perisic?
When do the club ever announce they're no longer interested in a player?
People are getting way too involved in tweets.

I think it a big part of it comes down to no one respecting Woody. He's not a football guy and other owners/football suits look down on him. They really should hire someone with a football background who is aggressive but measured for the transfer dealings of the club.

Unlike the other guys who are all football guys?

Pep will finally have a chance to prove his genius.
:nono: City clearly failed him in the transfer window, he needed Messi, Neymar and a genetically created younger version of Xavi to demonstrate his unrivaled football genius. Since City have failed him in the window, he cannot be expected to achieve more than a CL place.

Annual spending on defence:

USA £820bn
Cuba £700m
Man City £200m
Bosnia £180m
Congo £135m

Yeah. I agree. Do you think City again failed him or he needs a couple of more players to prove what everybody else knows, that he's the best there is.

So was Mhikitaryan, you want to send him out on loan as well? Martial is highly rated at the club, you can be sure of that. Inter can feck off.

Just take a look at the signings he's made. People not respecting him hasn't slowed him down. He's signed some huge names and some great players.

I think City failed him by not getting Messi. :smirk:

Hm? You are confusing the word publicly with officially. Something can be public but unofficial, like our interest in Morata was very public but unofficial. Clubs often intentionally leak stuff to the press either for point scoring or to get a reaction.

So I didn't mean we put out an official statement, but we leak it to the press that we are not interest any more and it's done. Because telling Inter to feck off is one thing, but telling the world that we told Inter to feck off is quite another.

None of the players you listed are genuine, orthodox wingers. They're all better in more central positions, which confirms why we want Perisic.

What is a genuine orthodox winger these days? Even mid and lower table sides often play with inside forward types.
