The relation between Steve Bruce and Elmohamady is laughable. He seems to not be comfortable to play under any manager except him.

And we are absolutely certain that Elmohamadys agents last name isn't Bruce ? :) In fairness - he will do a very good in the Championship

Assume we'll be in like a shot if Barca show any signs that they would be willing to sell...
Barca have no say in this if someone is willing to pay the release clause. If we want Neymar we can get him, the only little matter is paying 200 million pounds. :wenger::wenger::wenger:

True! Guess it would depend on the player then. I cannot see why anyone would leave Barca for PSG, even with a pay rise. if I'm honest I can't think of too many reasons to leave Barca for United either (currently), but at least it isn't a step down in terms of size, prestige, glamour and fame like PSG would be...

I hope PSG buy him for that. Would love to see the football world record be completely smashed by such a mad fee.

£220m is about 3x what he's actually worth even in this crazy market, if PSG want to pay that for him that let them
You think Neymar is only worth 73m in a market Lukaku goes for over 75?!? He's easily worth 100m in this market.

Seriously, £75m for Keita?

Now granted i havent seen a lot of him, but as if hes worth it. That money would get you better. Surely?
Did not know that 'is not for sale at any price' means 75m£ nowadays.

True that was harsh, but its still pretty much twice his value

Neymar is worth easily +150m. He's the 3rd best player in the world after Messi and Ronaldo, and still only 25. If he didn't follow the usual Brazilian trend, he can become a legend of Barca by the time he reaches 30.

PSG can't spend that kind of money not without FFP doing something about it and as it would be a second offense they could seriously face CL expulsion this time around.

I expect they are willing to concede on Verratti if Barca give up Neymar and would want him to account for between 80 and 100m. They'd probably also sell Di Maria or Moura.

It's not a bad plan, actually.

That's likely beyond our capability.
I dunno. If the club got the indication that Neymar was willing to come here I'm sure the club would seriously consider paying this admittedly monstrous transfer fee. But for that to happen the player and the manager would have to be really certain, because you don't spend this much money on a whim.

That is just an example of bad journalism.

This is the video of Rummenigge giving answers about the Sanches situation: https://fcbayern.com/fcbayerntv/de/video/2017/07/pk-rummenigge-vor-dem-abflug-zur-audi-summer-tour

The important part comes at 1:15min

He can confirm, that Milan are generally interested in Sanches, but we couldn't make progress..then some bla bla about economical effects and then he has a small giggle saying that Milan are not ready to fulfill their demands and nothing is going to change (under that circumstances).

Reporter asks about the reported 48m€ offer..that cannot be right, can it?

He had the impression, it was more about trying a loan. "With 48m€, I wouldnt be unhappy" he says and cannot stay serious having a big grin on his face and all having a small laughter.

If that is the £42m warning, they are reporting about, then be aware Milan....

€220m up front is some ask, even for us. Ordinarily we'd structure big deals to spread the cost. This would be a huge single hit.

Of course it's a huge ask and not really likely. But I would stop short of calling it impossible.

Most we ever paid for a buyout clause was Herrera for 30m pounds unless I'm forgetting someone obvious. I doubt we'll be willing to pay six or seven times more in three years (not to mention the wages and additional fees involved) unless half the squad decide they don't want to get paid the next season.

Costa instigated it around December/January time, I believe. Acting the cnut and pushing for a China move or a move back to Spain. Conte is actually in the right, I feel.

Thing about that is, when you have no reasonable alternative, it doesn't matter who's in the right. This is where a manager's man management skills come into play. If a drama queen is the difference between you winning or losing the league, you pander to the drama queen. Might leave a bad taste in your mouth but ultimately it's the better option. If you want to succeed to a high level in anything these are pretty essential skills

I'd take Sanches at £45m rather than Dier at £60m. Then that begs the question, does Jose see Andreas Pereira as a DM where he played against Galaxy over the weekend, or was that just a one off to get him on the pitch in the pre season? Both could provide cover / develop under Carrick this year since we seem only to be in for Dier currently.

They play completely different roles? Sanches certainly isn't capable of being a dm at this point. Dier is also a far superior player at this point

Felt sure the way Jose was talking that he still wants Morata and if the price has dropped to this he might be back in for him again - Real will probably say give us Dave (why no contract extension for him other goalkeeprs got 4 yr deals)

we could push for Morata and another player maybe, Dave finally gets his move and we get Morata his move too

All depends really on Dave

Didn't David just sign a new deal last season?

Why? Have you watched Sanches play football? He's been awful for the last year, and Bayern making a large profit on their purchase would be hilarious. Dier has shown far more talent than Sanches has in his career so far.

Do you just want Sanches because his name is more exotic and he's not English?

He obviously hasn't. If Dier wasn't English and had a surname Dierinho he would be on top of his wishlist :D

3X? Who are you talking about? Neymar is easily worth over £100m in the current market. Not worth over £200m though

Neymar available for the price of a small Carribbean island by the sounds of it. No player in world football is worth £200 million.
People have been saying that every summer for as long as I remember, yet the prices keep going up.

Give it ten years and we'll have the first billion pounds player.

One is a slow no.10, the other a pacey winger.

They're nothing alike.

I know. I'm just saying I think he's a better player overall. The other poster was suggesting Perisic was worth more which I'd disagree with. Same way you can say Messi is worth more than Ozil despite them playing different roles

Ok fair enough.

I've seen a lot of Sigurdsson and he's a good player in a terrible team. I wouldn't want him near Utd.
