He maybe slightly better than Keita at the minute. But he's a decent player at best. I hope I'm proved wrong though.

I dont disagree he is not a top player but we don't need more potential. We have plenty in attack we need players that can do a job now.

That sounds good. Winger with pace who can cross the ball. Exactly what we need and completely different from all other options we have.
If we had a reliable full back... Shaw for example if he could stay fit and how he was playing before his injury. Then we wouldn't need a winger.

Yes we would. After Martial our options for LW are Lingard? Rashford is a striker and even Martial prefers to play as a striker. After selling Memphis we clearly need a LW player

That's the problem!
He couldn't do a job at Dortmund, Wolfsburg or Inter - now he is expected to do one at United.

Can't see him helping us much to be honest.

We have Martial for the young wide player/forward with potential role. The last thing we need is another player with potential coming in and not realising it. We need players that can arrive and perform from day 1

He did well at Wolfsburg until they collapsed after selling KDB and he has been one of Inters best players. He can obviously offer something I just think the fee is too high

For me he's average to be honest -just a bit more experienced (yet still extremely inconsistent) Lingard. I think we have enough "decent" players in our squad, no need for more. Really can't see why we are going in for him..

it's a sellers market. It's not only our club getting large demands. Have you seen the price players are going for?
Perisic is not worth this much money in any market. According to Jose we didn't sign Morata because we couldn't come to an agreement with Real, in short we didn't agree with the asking price. So why are we agreeing to this ridiculous asking price now??

Anyway I suppose their's no point arguing about price since the Jose knows best brigade will keep parroting that he knows what he's doing. The only thing is if he turns out wrong, we are gonna be stuck with an ageing player at high wages that no one is gonna take off our hands. It makes sense to overpay for the likes of Lukaku or lindelof because even if Jose is no longer here, these are good players whom our future manager can use and if not we can still sell them at a decent price. The problem with buying a 28 year old average winger is that if it doesn't work out and the manager ends up leaving, we are gonna be stuck with him. And we are doing all this on the say of a manager who has never stayed more than 3 years at any job. So you can understand my trepidation with this deal.

Why do people still moan about the fee? Who cares? Seriously? Why would it be all fine at £35m but not at £48m? Is £13m going to make any difference? Will it mean we don't get our 4 players afterall?

If Jose really wanted Morata over Lukaku, we would have paid the money.

48 million for Perisic?? God!!! What is happening to our club??:(:(:(:(:(

Strange that this is the transfer you draw the line at.

Paying above Fellaini's release clause will always be a personal favourite.

Is this meant as an insult? If so its odd to insult someone based on an important strength. Also are you saying that Pogba doesn't have the potential?
So you are happy the club paying 40 odd million for someone who can pretty much only cross a ball? And no. Someone said potential doesn't matter. That attitude lead us to letting Pogba go and then paying a world record fee.

Hes much better than Lingard.

I'm assuming it's already been said, but I'd have much preferred Keita Balde to Perisič myself - he has the ability to go to a level above I think.
Not seen much anything of Balde. Does he have a higher ceiling than Martial? if we buy another player with potential for the left wing rather than someone who can deliver now the it would definitely be the end for Marital.

I have only seen YouTube clips of Perisic and he looks like a type of player we need rather than all the other options we have who want cut inside all the time. In his last season clips he seems to create a lot of chances that were fluffed by inter. He also seems to be 2 footed so he can go either way to keep the full back guessing.

It's not going to make much difference but the problem will be every other club will do the same with us. Selling a £30 million player for £50 will become the trend then. I am glad woody played hard ball himself and didn't outrightly accept inter's demand.

People on here underestimate Perisic so much it's ridiculous. Comparing him to Lingard is just mind blowing. He will easily be our best winger. Not saying Martial doesn't have a higher ceiling, but atm he'd be a great addition.

I'd rather have Perisic who works his socks off then another Di Maria catastrophe.

Indeed. These comparisons to Lingard are laughable. He's not worth what we're paying as a player, but perhaps with what he'll give us in terms of actual wing play from someone who can beat their man and put in a good cross, that'll be worth it.

Yep, the guy who got displaced by freckin Kevin Großkreutz due to work-rate by Jürgen Klopp at the time..

People have been complaining for 10 years at least about the "Manchester United premium". So it is hardly this transfer that is causing the problem.

I don't see them as proper wingers though. More inside forwards. Modern full backs provide the width but we have full backs who are limited. Example being Darmian on the left. I agree we need another who can either challenge Martial etc. Imo we need someone to help Lukaku and Rashford with the goals. Different story if we are switching to 3 at the back then I'd imagine Perisic playing left wing back. Then the argument is surely there are better wing backs out there.

Isn't that the point, we need something different, we need someone who can play LW if Shaw is injured and Darmian is playing LB. Someone who will add width by themselves like Valencia on the right
Peresic also has a decent goal record too.

That's just no true. Even at Brugge he was a very hard working winger. And like it or not, Perisic was important for that Dortmund team. Just like he's very important for Croatia or Inter.

The 'only cross the ball' comments come from people who have not watched him play.

Why is this not true? The only thing a player like Großkreutz was able to offer this Dortmund side was his work-rate and if Perisic would have been better at this point there would have been any reason for putting him on the bench. He has much more capabilities than Großkreutz in terms of end product etc. but still was benched for him due to the requiered power-house for pressing, cover etc.

Yes, he works hard but if this is enough to be a 50m player and become "United's best winger" it's still poor from us..

Perisic and Klopp fell out in the end though. He was displaced rather like Sahko has faced at Liverpool. Once you fall out, no going back. He done well at Wolfsburg, and same now at Inter. Think you are throwing a huff over nothing
