Didn't want to accept 70M from us but take 61M from Milan, well done Perez!

Wonder if @carvajal still believes £79M was fair after now selling him for 60M.

Well I'm glad Milan are getting him and not Chelsea.

Probably just Perez being a dick to us but it really does seem like its one price for the PL and another (cheaper) price for everyone else.

I doubt we ever made a solid offer (Perez said as much). For better or worse Mourinho wanted Lukaku and I imagine the most we ever did was sound out Morata before an official bid would have been made.

If true, suggests that Lukaku really was our first choice if we didn't want to pay less for Morata.

Judging from Jose's comments, I think we wanted both players though. And yes, Perez was just being an idiot for not accepting our higher offer. Waiting for the Madrid press pack to come up with articles on why this is the "better" deal and how Morata forced the move and Perez was nice to give in to him.

If all is true with the Morata rumour and fee, it just seems all ties will be cut with Real from now on.
Cannot see us selling De Gea to them at all after this

Oh yeah, it wouldn't have been that price for us.

Chelsea will end up kissing and making up with Costa (nice new contract) at this rate.

We did. Why did his agent and even his father go down to meet with Real? Why did Herrera say he was expecting to play with Morata? You would rather believe Perez ?

Even if its true I'm still glad he's not going to Chelsea, I spent long assuming he'd be our striker signing I'd hate to see him scoring for another PL team even if it was all BS.

If Milan get him for that price then good on them and feck Madrid, like seriously feck them. We should slap a 100m price tag on DDG and not budge even if his contract runs out.

Perez is a liar, the players agent confirmed an important offer.

I'm sure we made enquiries but if Real sold him for less than we bought Lukaku for then it would suggest we either low-balled them or never made a solid offer.

My ideal price was 80m€.The other 10 was for objectives.Maybe Premier League has a special price.
The right amount for him in todays market. I'm guessing it'll be a two-year loan with each year costing €10m then €70m after the loan.
Good contract option for the future. The seller club avoid wages and the buyer don't risk. However I don't think that will use It again so soon after James

I wouldn't even bank on Milan getting him. Before our interest was made public, it seemed like a done deal to Milan. Milan then seemed to have Auba tied up until that went quiet.

Could be that we discussed personal terms with him but never made a bid. Not denying there was interest, Mourinho obviously said as much.

No we made a bid, was confirmed by his agent. Mourinho also said we didn't sign him because the fee couldn't be agreed. Which means Madrid were asking for more than we wanted to pay. Several reports said we made a few bids too, and Perez is a known liar.

Very true

Love having him as #2, but still don't know why he's willing to waste his prime years at Untied backing up De Gea. Must be the money.

He was a free transfer from Sampdoria. Although, he's been good for United I wonder why his former club let him go for free.

If it's true (our rejected higher bids versus AC's accepted bid) then I think it's the nail in the coffin for DDG moving to Real Madrid. We'd effectively have to price DDG for them in the same way RM priced Morata for us.

Can't see them paying over the odds for a position they don't need.

Good to see Madrid needing to sell for a lower fee... Makes us rejecting them for DDG even easier and they get less money out of the deal.

I hope Ed will make it his personal mission to own Real in the transfer market.

This!

So Perez gets his 90m for him and Milan have bought some time to get back into CL to recoup some cash.

So the wages we were reportedly offering him were £270k per week. But he's happy to accept £166k at Milan?

Also poor Milan have been taken to the cleaners, €70m for their reserve striker, well done Real, that's a heck of a deal. Would love for us to learn a thing or two about selling players from the likes of Chelsea and Madrid tbf.

Indeed

West Ham are getting closer to signing Javier Hernandez, who wants £140,000 a week.

But they're trying to structure the deal so his weekly wage is lower but he gets more in bonuses and appearance fees.

Hernandez has got a £13million release clause in his contract at Bayer Leverkusen.
