Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I was just going to comment: the Downing to a Carroll. Don't mean that as a WUM, more of a shock on my behalf.
More like Barry to a Fernando. Although that never went through but it was precisely what Rafa was trying to do when he was ready to ship off Alonso for Gareth fecking Barry. :wenger:

That's the obvious answer, but I don't believe it. Not sure Madrid could even afford De Gea in this market, not even compounding how they've made the Morata transfer untenable. Only way that happens is if De Gea pushes for it, and he certainly doesn't seem keen to a move at this point.

No, I'd say that for whatever reason, Romero just likes being at United and accepts his #2 role at such a huge club. I just find it a bit odd, being how he's Argentina's #1.
Wasn't he out of contract and without a club when we got him. I think he knows his status is #2 for a top club or #1 for a mediocre one. He chooses the former from the looks of it.

feck, is there a Milan version of RedCafe? Can only imagine the reaction on here if we bought 10 players and planned to continue spending. 90% of the forum would have no nob left from overuse.

Shocking news, a team can have multiple channels of attack and can use different players and tactics during a game to try break down teams.

No apparently it has to be one or the other.

What some are failing to realise is that we did cross the ball last season just very poorly. Wouldn't it be nice to get someone who can do that more accurately for a better chance of converting them?

They not spent roughly the same as us and Everton so far?

Bonucci alone can't be categorized similarly since he would have never gone for that price to England or anywhere else for that matter - Bonucci, Silva, Conti, Calhanoglu, Musaccio, Rodriguez, Biglia, Borini & Kessie + Donnarumma's future resolved. Transfer window not finished either. Has anyone had a better off season so far? Would be hard to imagine

Apart from Bonucci, that's a lot of average right there. I don't think you'd can class that bunch of players that good of a window, last year United had a better one and Real showed in 2009 what's a good window, IMO.

It's still a great window for Milan to be fair, especially as a start of their "revolution". Let's not forget they aren't in the Champions League next season and despite being one of the greatest historical clubs in world football, are not as attractive destination as Real Madrid, Manchester United or Bayern Munich, so it's unfair to use our or Madrid's past business against them.

I think it's a great first step for them, but the next few windows would be equally important. The results on the pitch too, and I'm not too sure Montella is the right man for the job.

Ricardo Rodriguez is average? :wenger:

Silva, Conti & Kessie alone are great signings. It is a young and talented group already, moreover all in one window - its rather unheard of I think. They close on Belotti or Aubameyang and I would say they will easily have the best offseason of any big club in Europe this summer

i know there is more than 1, but no way Lukaku was number 1 for striker as media claimed. We all know he wasnt and to say otherwise is utter BS

 Excited about the player when Chelsea were favorites to sign saying how good a signing it is, never a word on Lukaku when ManUtd signed him and now shitting on him saying he wasn't first choice when the player himself said he gave the word to the club long back.

I don't know if the Sun is banned here, but Warren Haughton is as far as I remember a trusted journalist.

Ricardo Rodriguez is average? :wenger:

Rodriguez had a very good period and was hailed as the next big thing on LB position. However, he never fulfilled this potential and is very lucky in my opinion that Milan went in for him.

Even so, they got him for a very good price. If he returns to any kind of previous form, they've done very well indeed.

To be fair, they're buying solid squad players. You've got to start somewhere. They'll be after bigger names next summer.

I was a fan of Rodriguez but haven't actually seen him play in ages so I don't know how he is these days. The other three are stone average players, though.

Obviously Bonucci is a cracking signing and Donnarumma signing a new deal is great news for them. They have also signed Andre Silva who I know nothing about, but a-few on here reckon he isn't all that. A-lot of their signings so far strike me as early day City (mega rich version) signings.

Dier and £60m in one sentence just does not sit right with me. That sort of money should be buying you Alexis or other proven goalscorers not freaking DM.
