Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

You have to admire how Bayern, Milan and Juve have been conducting their transfer businesses this season. Decisive, smooth, quick, and relatively cheap.

Transfer of the summer!
Snapping up one of the best players in his position, for that price in todays market, so quickly is just very good business!
If we signed him I'd bet on the caf focusing on the 5 year contract worth 260k a week for a 30 year old defender and feeling bad.

Just thinking about how Kyle Walker cost almost double what we paid for Eden Hazard just a few years ago is mind boggling.

Good signing for City but the fee is utter madness.

For me this would be a great signing as he has the leadership we've been missing for a while now, is one of the best CB in the world + at 30 he is still able to perform on a very high level for a few years in my opinion. Yes, the PL is much faster then Serie A, however, I do think that Bonucci would have been a success.

Nevertheless you can argue in both directions. I hope he does well with Milan and help them coming back in the CL - and fight for the title agoainst Juve.

It really is crazy. If the clubs had better foresight they should have really splashed the cash last year. Could have got so many players for much, much less money.

What's funny is despite how crazy to fees are now compared to even 3-4 years ago, Andy Carol at £35m still looks like the most overpriced, worst signing of all time.

Not arguing about his quality or potential success, just that some posters like to focus on the negatives. We could sign Messi and there would still be endless complaints.

Bonucci at Milan still seems surreal to me. Especially with how quickly it went from tiny rumours to a done deal.

A team that has been crap for years is signing of an Italian star from the most dominant team in the league. Seems a big deal to me
Not just any team either. It's the club that dominated two decades of european football from the end of the 80s to the mid 00s

How many times does it need to be reported that Inter have set a price for Perisic? We get it.
Actually, it's the first time an Inter director admits being negotiating with us. I feel this is close to an end.

If you think of players in defensive positions as merely plugs for gaps in defence, then yeah, I suppose it's easy to critique high valuations of full-backs in today's market, however, full-back's in modern times are more and more vital cogs in offensive, as well as defensive situations; the fluidity of entire systems rely on full-backs being efficient defensively and productive offensively. If you see this position as less valuable and for defensive means only, then you'll recoil at £50m for a full-back.

Yes. It's something like if Liverpool/Tottenham sign Rio Ferdinand from United in 2008. It's just story you don't believe it before you see it. Transfer of the summer.

Sounds like our transfer business could be wrapped up soon.
Not with Matic it appears. The article says that Chelsea are even more reluctant to selling Matic to us after the Lukaku deal hijacking. And with the Walker transfer, I don't think Spurs will entertain a Dier bid either, so our options seem to be drying out.

How petty are Chelsea. Not wanting to sell Matic to us because we dared to sign a player they wanted.
