Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

People are deluded to think Chelsea will sell Matic to us, not in a million years.
They might not have a much choice in it. If he diggs his heals in its not really up to them to agree terms, only the price. And if they price him out of it would leave a bad taste with the others who are already on a hot tin roof about these things.

There's no way in hell we would be stupid enough to pay £55m for Perisic. Even with the inflated prices he's worth no more than £25m. I don't really want us to sign him but I think he's a decent enough player. There surely must be better, younger alternatives out there for that kind of money.

I think there is a way in hell...Unfortunately.

He's quite clearly worth more than £25m in this inflated market.

Yeah players like Pickford, Keane, Bolasie, Ederson, Conti, Klassen, Andre Silva are all signed for more than 25 Million but Perisic isn't worth more than 25 Million :wenger:

He's definitely worth more than £25m but £35m or £40m should really be the max. Don't even think he's worth £40m tbh. The fee being suggested is insane. If he does sign, I hope he offers more for us than he did for Inter because what I saw of him merely looked good and we need better than that. I have my doubts about his creativity. I also think those speaking of his crossing are hugely overrating this area of his game. Sure it's decent but not elite from what I've seen. I do like that he's fast, strong, and two-footed, and he'll also be another giant to add to our now very physically imposing team. In terms of his actual productivity though, we could do better.

I agree with you that price is bit high but he is key player for Inter, they are also loaded now. So we have to pay big to sign him. I wouldn't mind if we didn't sign him and rely on Martial though.

Call me a muppet exciter and I dont go for these smokescreens generally...but if there is any truth in these Collymore tweets....we have been heavily linked with Perisic which seems strange and barely linked with any other left sided attackers since Griezman and James......Bale, Neymar?

A few pages back there was a tweet about Griezmann hiring Raiola as his agent... maybe just maybe

It would be his reputation completely ruined if he left Atletico after opening explaining why he stayed. No way he does it. If anything he fired him for the fiasco of both him and his agent playing up a United move when it ultimately didn't happen because of the transfer ban. His agent probably told him to milk the saga and when it didn't happen he realized his image was hurt by it.

This! That is a reason why i don't want we sign him. There must be better and younger options available. For me he is like Croatian James Milner. Good squad player but peaked already and not a guy who you want to see in starting eleven against Real Madrid in Cl-semifinal. Their level is that cold windy night in Britannia stadium.

He's not even close to our most talented player, Pogba and De Gea are more talented. Also he was marginalised because he was fecking piss. Rashford was working harder both off the pitch and on it, which is why he was preferred. Everyone's crying about Martial's treatment, ask yourself, if he was half as talented as some on here would make you believe, that position would be his, no questions asked.

He's had one good season ffs, was good but hardly a superstar at Monaco, came to United and was played with the ball into his feet constantly, being the main man. Not every manager he's going to play with throughout the course of his career is going to play boring possession football, he needs to adapt. Jose Mourinho is the most successful manager remaining of our era, he's a winner, it's not his job to adapt to Martial who has achieved feck all. No manager can implement a system to get the best out of every single player in the squad, especially when he didn't even sign the majority of them, that's wishful thinking.

Either he does what the manager expects of him, or he continues to be marginalised for players who will. People forget Martial was given plenty of chances last season, he was basically undroppable at the start of the season, despite continuing to disappoint. Jose came in with different tactics, attacking the space, breaking with pace etc. and Martial's looked terrible. SAF didn't play posession based football either, would you lot have complained if SAF expected him to adapt as well? In fact SAF was no stranger to making his wingers track back either. I remember so many people on here would argue that Nani's unwillingness to track back was one of his worst traits. (Which was a myth btw, he would track back) Rashford struggled throughout the season but worked his ass off and began to understand, he basically carried us to a Europa League with his individual brilliance. For all this talent Martial seems to possess, quite funny a youth product is showing him up.

I'm a big fan of Martial, but if he fails here it's not Jose's fault, it's his and his alone. Especially if he's as talented as everyone on here is saying. All manager's have favourites. SAF dropping Nani from the RW when he was having the season of his life to accomodate Valencia, Guardiola dropping one of the best EPL strikers of the past decade, the list goes on. Its down to those players to adapt to what the manager expects, to improve. If they can't, that's a shame, but no player except Messi is irreplaceable. Martial isn't even the best upcoming French talent, in fact he's not even the best French talent in the Manchester United squad.

Martial is going to work under a lot of different managers in his career, especially with the rate that they get sacked at these days, he's not always going to play in systems with pretty passes and balls into his feet for 90 minutes, he needs to add more to his game, it's that simple. Is it Jose's fault for not teaching him in training? Who knows, that's a completely different argument, we don't see them in training. I find it very hard to believe he doesn't though, looking at Rashford's improvement towards the end of the season.

Footballers are made through a combination of hard work, overcoming adversity and talent. If fecking Ronaldo wasn't talented enough not to work his ass off and adapt, neither is Martial.

Well said. It is Martial than needs to adapt to Jose, not Jose to Martial. While I think Martial is a very Talented player, I would not bat eyelid if Jose decides to sell him.

Lol, I saw loads of Barcelona fans on twitter earlier saying that they should sell Neymar and they were just generally mocking him. If their ungrateful asses don't want him I and I'd imagine most Utd fans would be very happy to have him

I'm not Brazilian or even a Neymar fanboy but if we got him I'd probably wank myself to death before the Super Cup.

Yeah you're probably right, I'm just not sure who else that tweet could have been about.

Tancredi Palmeri is a big Inter fan and was the first to break Inters capture of Vidic afew years back. I wouldn't be surprised if his info regarding Perisic is correct.

James Rodriguez would be marquee signing. Doesn't have to be Bale or Ronaldo.

e. Same with Alexis... It is possible we will make at least one more marquee signing this year.

Jonathan Barnett probably the agent. Gareth Bale(his client).

is my guess. No other superstar is attainable right now.

Bale? Yeah, I could live with that.

A winger, and a center midfielder would make this window a successful one I think. Covers mostly much needed improvement.

Persevere with Perisic, or hijack Costa's deal, or one marquee signing like Bale?

Persevere with Fabinho, or hijack Bakayoko's deal or one marquee signing like Radja?

I hope you are right.
I do too, people wax lyrical about the likes of Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele but we have our very own player from the same french generation who is just as good in my opinion, and showed it in his first season. Time to rediscover that form.

Why are Chelsea mad at us? There is no agreement that the two clubs wont pursue the same player..
It looks like we had contact with Lukaku's camp before the season ended.. It wasnt a last minute, lets feck with Chelsea, deal.
If true, it's a bit rich coming from the shower who pinched Kenyon, then proceeded to go after all of our transfer targets. Robben, Essien, etc.

Just curious, if we could Sign James this season, or wait for Griezmann next season, who would you prefer to play behind Lukaku?

They're completely different players mind.
I haven't really seen either one play if i'm honest, but Griezeman seems to be better.

#Inter are reportedly interested in #CFC’s Nemanja Matic, as he won’t now be sold to #MUFC. http://www.football-italia.net/105567/inter-enter-matic-race … #FCIM

So bitter.

2 year loan deal with option to buy, weird how Madrid have said they wanted 80M all along but will go along with a 2 year loan deal ffs.
