To strengthen the midfield of MU, it seems that the priority is Matic

Just curious, if we could Sign James this season, or wait for Griezmann next season, who would you prefer to play behind Lukaku?

They're completely different players mind.
Griezmann, no doubt. And alongside Lukaku, not behind him.

Surely papers will milk Griezmann agent issues over the next few weeks.

I've not watched Perisic a great deal, but Lindelof, Lukaku and Matic are good signings in my view.
I've watched a significant amount of Perisic, I personally will be happy with his signings. Agree with you on the other signings, I think my biggest issue with Matic was that there was a better alternative in Fabinho seemingly available however Matic is a two-time PL winner and can be a good DM for us.

Is Perisic an old fashioned winger as some have said? Gets to the byline and puts in a cross? A Valencia RW version type of player?

Yeah I agree, I think Fabinho would have been a better signing if we managed it, but Matic is still a good player.

He's pretty comfortable on both wings, loves taking his man on, is very fond of sharp turns as opposed to stepovers/more fancy skill moves. He has a good cross on him, very quick and yeah he loves getting out wide and hugging the byline. Has quite a nice cross on him. He's two footed which is a huge bonus.

His cross is so good you had to write it twice :wenger: Sign him up Woody

If that's the sort of player he is, then I'm all for his signing! His age won't necessarily impede Martial either.

Haha, right you are!

I'm still convinced we've signed him for the RW. He'll never be Robben/Bale but he's a solid signing, you need these kind of players so your star players can shine.

I think so too, kind of… But all his highlights show him so much at ease in the top top left, that it would be a pity to take him out of that zone, really.

Maybe, but I feel like Mourinho might want to experiment with an inside forward on one side, Martial, who gets less offensive support from his full back and have an out and out winger supported by the full back on the right side, as Valencia was allowed to freely go forward whenever he got the chance with Perisic in front of him could provide us with excellent width on that side.

So if we don't get our player it's because we are after someone better? Can't it be they don't want to come here??
Not in this case. He's apparently already dropped his come and get me plea in interviews in public tv.

True but I'd say Lemar is more of a winger than Silva. 55mil is just laughable... Inter are taking the piss
They don't want to sell and know we need and want him really bad. Italian newspapers talk of them getting two players if Perišić leaves, one of them Di María…:wenger:

There's no way in hell we would be stupid enough to pay £55m for Perisic. Even with the inflated prices he's worth no more than £25m. I don't really want us to sign him but I think he's a decent enough player. There surely must be better, younger alternatives out there for that kind of money.

€55 million so £48.6 million.

But it doesn't seem the manager wants younger potentially better players, he wants a certainty now. For that we already have Martial.

Call me a muppet exciter and I dont go for these smokescreens generally...but if there is any truth in these Collymore tweets....we have been heavily linked with Perisic which seems strange and barely linked with any other left sided attackers since Griezman and James......Bale, Neymar?

Lol, I saw loads of Barcelona fans on twitter earlier saying that they should sell Neymar and they were just generally mocking him. If their ungrateful asses don't want him I and I'd imagine most Utd fans would be very happy to have him
