Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

If Everton bought him for a fee we wouldn't directly have to pay Rooney anything for any amount of time.

In my opinion Rooneys still worth around £20m so if we're paying 75 minimum for Lukaku that's pretty much £95m swing. Rooneys now pretty shite but hes still 30 and United and Englands top scorer. I think we could've and should've done a little better with this deal.

We've paid Bale and Ronaldo money and got Lukaku. RVN and Rooney himself were bought for alot less in comparison.

By the end of 2016-2017 season, Rooney was playing well below the levels we saw from Schweinsteiger during 2015-2016. We know United had to do a full writedown of Schweini last year, so I don't believe any club would've paid £20m for Rooney. More likely, unless we gave him away and paid part of his salary, we were very likely looking at another asset writedown later this year. So his value is closer to zero than £20m. When you consider the wages we were paying, you can see that we were actually upside down with Rooney. In other words, he was more of a £15m liability than a £10m or £20m asset.

Ed has done a great piece of business here.

At their current stage, Mourinho prefers hard working donkeys to contend the PL week in week out while Allegri is asking for more quality in the case he contends another CL final?
Yeah, that's a good way of putting it.

I've disliked Rooney over recent years but he certainly deserves his "dream move" back to Everton after what he's done for us.

Rumblings that Chelsea's deal for Bakayoko has stalled and we're going to go in. I'd post it in the Bakayoko thread, but it's been locked for weeks for some reason.

Rather him than Matic or Dier.

Anything concrete? I just did a quick twitter search but didn't find anything of substance. If that happens, Mourinho is on a massive windup, Conte may just erupt if we do it again.

It's in various papers and sites. There's never anything concrete though, ever until the beeb report it.

Roma defender Antonio Rudiger has arrived in London for his Chelsea medical. Personal terms agreed on £34m deal

Good defender, but i never was too impressed. I rate van Dijk, Koulibaly and even Manolas higher. Chelsea could have done better, but he is an upgrade on Cahill. Will be interesting to see who will move out of the CBs if they go 3 at the back, probably Azpi, even though he had a good season.

Could be Monaco are not selling anymore players so Bakayoko is last to leave this season

have a feeling Jose is going to put Ander in Carrick role and have Pogba as attacking midfielder and if he can get him
Bakayoko as his box to box midfielder.

Tell me about it, by the time I sat down and lit my cigarette, I have read all the posts...
yep, when I woke up, was looking forward to tweets, but found huge amout of it, two. And it is about Rudiger:rolleyes: Sunday bloody sunday, it will get better, I believe. Hope...

I don't get the Indy tweet. Fabinho has been courting other clubs openly since for a number of weeks.

Verrati doesn't look like moving so can anyone tell me how Fabinho is going to fit in PSG starting XI for him to want them ?

Purely to get retweets and clicks. I can't see the full article but from the comments it says his preference is PSG.

Every summary I've read says he wants to come to England, I haven't read the article myself so that's purely trusting other sources there. However, I'd be amazed if he actually wanted to go to PSG if he had other offers from abroad.

Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez has emerged as a target for Manchester City, according to Marca.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly willing to activate Martinez’s €30m (£26.5m) buyout clause.

However, City face competition from Juventus, AC Milan and Barcelona in the race to sign the 26-year-old.
