Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

So Costa put the tools down a la Martial when there was a challenge in front of him and he sulked...but then Rashford adapted to a wide forward role, embraced the change and as invaluable to Jose. Shows that Douglas Costa doesn't have the proper mentality and attitude for a soon to be 27 year footballer. Perisic is only a year and half or so older yet is the safer choice between the two players

He's better than that, but I grant you, price is a bit steep. Everton building solid, of unspectacular, squad. A very Everton squad.
Yes Yes and Yes.

there is more to his game than just the odd freekick. I said in the Lukaku thread that he was an indicator of how the last TV deal has been a game changer regarding transfer fees. I also said that they were using the Lukaku money to build a good squad. I then likened it to Spurs splashing the Bale money and hoped that they did better out of it than Spurs did.

I was just mentioning that to justify Mourinho's lack of interest in Douglas Costa. Otherwise, I completely agree with you. Hoping he gives him good chances in the pre-season, could do wonders to his confidence.

At their current stage, Mourinho prefers hard working donkeys to contend the PL week in week out while Allegri is asking for more quality in the case he contends another CL final?

The optimism/greed of some fans. We're just about to seal the second highest transfer in history, and they still think we'll get Morata on top!
It's like me and shoes, can't ever be satisfied.

Rashford is used to play wide, iirc that's where he started with the academy.

Antonio Conte is quite annoyed by the difficulties of the mercato of Chelsea after the signing of Lukaku to United and stand by on Sandro!

Is he implying Sandro may not go Chelsea?

You'll get over it bud, don't worry, we're here for you.

Oh, I'm not worrying. I'm very happy for Rooney. He's got his dream move back to Everton, after stamping down legendary status at the club we support. Couldn't be more ideal for him. Like you said, I'll get over it.

The concern is whether Perisic's talents will be enough despite his great attitude. I'd love for Perisic to end up being a great signing for us but I just can't see it. I don't think he has enough ability to create and deliver significantly to our performances. If he were to sign I'm pretty sure he would be rotated a lot. He only has 4 more goals and 2 more assists than Costa despite playing 1000 more mins and this was him playing at his best as opposed to Costa who had probably his worst season. I just think he's too limited honestly. I'd have an in-form Martial starting ahead of him for sure.

That's why perhaps Mourinho prefers an older and with lower ceiling Perišić, but with great workrate and mentality.

There is nothing Costa has on Perisic except dribbling and age. Perisic is as quick, is two footed, contributes better to defending, better at set pieces and is more versatile as a player. Plus, he actually wants to play for Jose.

Annoying thing about this transfer is that you know he'll play at the same standard he did all last season a part from when he comes up against us, and reverts to 06/07 Rooney.

That can cost us a max 6 points. Him in the squad would've cost us a lot more points.

He's a better crosser and passer than Perisic.

Probably a troll, but on that Chelsea forum someone posted a link to, a guy calling himself "football agent" reckoned he was a real ITK, and said they haven't the will to spend more than £50m on a player this summer due to the new ground scenario and reigning the spends in.
He reckoned the Lukaku situation was pure face saving, and that Tammy Abrahams (?) will be boosted forward along with Batsuyi too.

It seems impossible to believe that the team that brought spending to a new level wouldn't have enough money, but we'll soon see!
60+ m for a left back/wing back seems mental...

By the time we play Everton, which is only game 5, i'm pretty sure he'll already be in quite a deep midfield position. And not a huge threat attacking wise.
He can still be a decent player for them, but I can't see him ripping the likes of us up!

How do you know this?? What are you basing that comment on?

Maybe it means that his balls are black and blue.

I thought people following others in instagram as a transfer hint was bad.

Social media has made transfer windows the lowest that the human race can be.

what's a 2015 tweet have to do with anything. plus Perisic isn't in twitter
Firstly I'm not sure that's his official account, but if I remember correctly the Croatia national team tweeted at that account before. Also, my point was shortly before he signed for Inter, he tweeted a blue and black emoji (colour of Inter's kit) and now he's tweeted a red emoji (colour of our kit). Then again it could well be a fake account and we're just wasting our time.
