Yeah, because he already has potential ceiling and mentality doubts on Martial.
I don't think that's the case but I could be wrong. I think it is more in line of getting a safe bet to compensate during Martial's low form because of his inconsistency (normal for young player) rather than lost his trust in Martial. Plus, the fact that Perisic is ambidextrous and able to play on both flanks should be good for the squad. At least, I hope Mourinho won't completely ignore Martial next season.

I was just mentioning that to justify Mourinho's lack of interest in Douglas Costa. Otherwise, I completely agree with you. Hoping he gives him good chances in the pre-season, could do wonders to his confidence.

Who knows? Maybe Ed is waiting to strike again, just waiting until Juve and Bayern to agree to a lower fee than previously quoted/rumoured/guessed, because we all know when United gets involved, it is at least 50% mark up.

, careful it must be a very hard time for him.

I'm emotional as feck. I was 13 when Rooney came to United, which is around the time I started watching United often. It's going to be strange going into next season not seeing Rooney in the squad.

You'll get over it bud, don't worry, we're here for you.

Did I say anything about Fabinho? Absolutely not. In fact, check my post history and you'll see I haven't posted a thing about that player as it's fairly obvious to me we have no interest in him. So, don't include me posting an opinion on Dier as related to Fabinho.

Dier is not worth 50m just the same as Matic is not worth 40m as far as I'm concerned. As a midfielder, I find them incredibly limited. I would much rather someone more accomplished on the ball than Dier. It's unlikely we would get Weigl but if we're prepared to pay that money for Dier, I'd give it a go.

Who do you want us to sign then because we won't be getting Weigl (not this season anyway). Clearly we're after a dm. Not many options in the position.

Rumours of Sigurdsson moving to Everton picking up a lot of pace now. Can't embed tweets right now and the sources are probably banned but it's looking likely.

Won't be easy for Rooney to become a starter for Everton. They will have some competition in his position(s).

Antonio Conte is quite annoyed by the difficulties of the mercato of Chelsea after the signing of Lukaku to United and stand by on Sandro!

And the general consesus was that most of our players were shockingly bad last season. It would seem way too much of a risk
He's a one trick pony who isn't a well rounded footballer. Left footed player who will jink around you and puts in a hopeful, pacy cross. He's no better than Zaha the fact that they will tactically get cancelled out of the game and cannot be relied on for consistent output. Will showcase the raw ability yes but how else does he support the team if he is not playing to his talent. Does he make sacrificial runs, press, pass unwillingly, tactically flexible? At Juve, he'll contend with Cuardado?
He plays for Bayern

Well this was probably Costa's worst season and he still did decent numbers. He was clearly unhappy with his position at Bayern and he didn't seem to respond in the right way. Mkhi and Martial both had great performances the season before, showing that these slumps do happen. It doesn't mean they won't be great again in the future. Mkhi in particular had some great performances last season even though there weren't enough of them.

As for the one trick pony argument I don't agree with that. He's a very good dribbler and he's a great crosser which would be very useful with Lukaku up front. We're very lacking in terms of dribblers also, we only really have Martial, Mkhi, and Rashford that are capable of going past loads of players on their own (maybe Pogba too). Considering the poor form of the 3 last season (with some good patches) we could definitely use another player like that. I'm not really convinced that Perisic is as capable of dribbling past players. The last point is fair, he would definitely have to contribute much more to the defensive side if he was to play for Jose but Mkhi didn't contribute defensively before we signed him either and he's a consistent starter now. Depends if he's willing to work hard and learn or not. I think he would.

His playing for Bayern is probably why he didn't get more goals and assists. He was competing with the likes of Robben, Ribery, and Muller for a spot in the team who seemed to be favoured ahead of him anyway.
