I'd pay £50m for him.

I'll stick my neck out and say we'll regret him going to City or Chelsea (and I do feel he'll end up at one of them).

He is a great CB, the best in the league for me, i am a huge fan. Think he will end up at City personally, we will go for Keane/Lindelöf and Chelsea will probably look in Italy.

Alderweireld is better, Bailly will be better... I think he's a little bit overrated.

I'd say £80m if Dave was adamant about leaving. I could live with £75m if push came to shove but less than that and we are just giving him away.

We are talking about a player who is one of the best in his position, atleast top 3 in the world, he is still very young can go on for years and he is under a long term contract without release clause. £80m sounds fair to me.

I would accept any swap deal involving Moratta (+£30m) Bale (straight swap), Varane (+£40m) not interested in James unless Griezmann decides to stay at Atlético in that case I would accept for James (+£35m)
I agree I think £75m is fair, I'd hate for you to get Bale or Isco personally. The others I'd be happy to see you let him go for. Only problem is if you want to sign a young GK yourself unless you've scouted out a bargain it's like £30m+ is the going rate for anybody now.

Alderweireld is great too, but he plays for a much better team, Van Dijk would look as good at Spurs. There are a lot of people in the forum who dont rate him at all, which is quite baffling. He has it all and is available, he would be the perfect CB for us alongside Bailly.

Can he make Stones look good? :wenger:

Didn't realise Van Dijk was only 25.

I know hes a cnut but what if we do actually decide to cash in? Romero has been good and just recently you heard sound bites from Jose how Joel Periera will be a top class keeper. Although i remember Fergie saying same about Foster etc.

Prime Nesta would have problems making him look good :D
 :( I still hold some hope. I'm giving him a chance to see if he looks any better with a better fullback alongside him. He did have a few decent games but at £50m you expect a consistency.

It's going to be an interesting summer. Arsenal are really going to have to pull out all the stops...but if Wenger's been promised 'only' £100m to spend they're screwed. Unless Ozil and Sanchez goes...but they would still need replacing. Either way, they're screwed.

It's getting to the stage where Sky should be on the banned list.

It's not a case of "wanting" to sell him as Ballague says, it's more that David may want to go back to his family. That is about the only reason for it. In which case it'd be wiser to sell an unhappy player.

gonna be one hell of a summer! honestly think he'll go but it wont be for 60Mill thats for sure! at least 80Mill IMO.

He really would be perfect. Great age with good experience, premiership experience. He strikes me as a leader as well, a good communicator.

I live in Southampton so have been able to see him live a few times. I rate him very highly.

I surely cant be the only one who is tired of this constant Real Madrid bullshit over Dave?
I was over it a couple of seasons back when the fax machine kept him here. I think if he does want to leave let him. But I'm not sure he does, think it's all just Madrids nonsense.

I remember 5 years ago my mantra was "if Sky doesn't report it, it's not confirmed".

Now I view them at the same level as the Daily mirror
