Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Not sure what the fuss is. Simon Stone is giving his opinion just like the rest of us. He didn't exactly hashtag breaking news and neither is he not allowed to speak unless its sensational. It's not even an article ffs.

Arsenal is having a good transfer window so far.

There is a big chance that Mourinho is perfectly relax and the press is trying to justify their numerous failed predictons by pretending that United and Mourinho are panicking.
Spot on. I'm sure he will quash this on his next press conference. They media are just feeding the frenzied United fans on social media.

I sure he would want all the business done by the time they go on tour but he is not an idiot and know this is impossible. Even the 1st July was too late for the most impatient fans. "Quick sign any player, but don't pay too much as i'll be embarrassed and my mates or some random on the internet will take the piss."

Based on??

52 million for Lacazette and a free transfer so far, with likely departures of Sanchez, Bellerin and possibly Ozil.

Oh and wenger for 2 more years. Yay for Arsenal.....

Havent watched lacazette greatly, but those who claim to have reckon arsenal are getting mugged right off

When the selling clubs demand absolutely batshit crazy money for their players (Perisic and even Morata), then you cannot really secure all your targets before pre-season unless you want to blow your whole budget on 3 players who aren't even world-class.

I'm sure Jose is well aware of that and even though it's not a perfect situation, this whole "unhappy with Woodward" story is being blown well out of proportion by the media.

20+ goals for three consecutive seasons in a defensive-minded ligue, and he's "only" 26 years old. Was wanted by a lot of clubs last Summer as well. I think he'll hit the ground running and easily top the 20-goal mark once again this season.
There's no point to argue about it, we'll see in the coming season.

Personally I think he's no better than Giroud.

It's a nothing story, every manager prefers to have new players for preseason but then reality exists.

Day started off with positive tweets - now it's gone quiet again apart from Simon Stone and Sky bloke stating the obvious.

I bet it heats up tonight.

As ive said before, with the prices the way they are, now isnt the time to need 4 first teamers......

Even we are struggling with the financial implications of that situation.

Doesn't matter if you think he's better or not he's as a player his skill set is completely more suited to Arsenal. Giroud is a good player but he doesn't have the ability to run behind the last defender and his movement is also poor. Lacazette is quality at both these things and on top of that is a clinical finisher. The question is whether he can make the step up to the Premier League but it's completely understandable as to why they are making that risk. Personally I think he's the best they could have got in the market - let's not forget that if Athleti weren't having their transfer ban he'd be a Madrid player.

Not sure that Wenger is even fully convinced about Lacazette.

The media really do seem to have it in for Woodward, you don't see any over clubs CEO's being made into such a figure of public ridicule and hatred the way he constantly is.

By the end of every summer apart from the initial Moyes one, nearly every United fan has been impressed with he's how well he's done, with the players he's brought in and the timing he's got them (it's not really his issue that most of the players didn't perform up to expectation in the end). But by the next summer, the media whip up another storm of articles claiming how useless he is and suddenly everyone hates him again and wants him sacked. It's strange

MUFC. Hated, adored, never ignored.

It's always been this way.

I don't think so either. Lacazette has been available to him for two seasons or so. Seems a bit panicky given the climate of his current standing, as well as potentially losing Alexis and/or Ozil.

Especially when that person is actually good at what he does i.e Mourinho, Pogba. They will take advantage of any situation to attack such individuals, at the end of the day most are fans of other clubs and they most likely don't want us to do well.

Yep. The same fecking story was doing the rounds last summer and we ended up with Pogba, Zlatan, Mkhitaryan and Bailly.

I am truly amazed how many people believe Mourinho is leaking his frustration to the press.

Surely he would pick up the phone and speak direct to the Ed Woodward?

You would have thought so. Maybe Jose has p'd off baldy somehow and he has written an opinion piece making it look like Jose's thoughts.

PSG is negociating with Real Sociedad for LB Yuri Berchiche.

I understand Arsenal are desperate for a new striker and they're getting a good one, but it's pretty cringey and over the top reading all their supporters and all the footy journalists acting as though they've pulled off some enormous coup signing Lacazette. It's not like there were a load of other big clubs after him and he chose Arsenal. Their only competition was Atleti and he'd be there now had they not been transfer banned. He sort of just fell in Arsenal's lap.

You can't tell me that if United/Chelsea/City or other big clubs made an offer to him he'd turn them down for Arsenal in the Europa League.

Not a tweet but I just had to post this bullshit from sky, talking about joses worries they said we've still spent more than Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs combined, statistically true but they have to have a dig don't they especially when 3 of those 4 haven't spent anything

Needs a big "so far" written across it. They've been reporting that Arsenal are about to splash a club record on Lacazette. In the meantime they just love to have a dig.

Could it boil down to Rooney? That we are waiting on the funds gained/wages saved from selling him before we decide to pay a little bit more than we want for new targets?

I know we have a fair bit of money but that doesn't mean it needs to be spent paying over the odds for players without knowing wht's coming back in from sold players.

Bang on. Arsenal always do that because they are so starved of joy in the transfer market.

No even so, how does that add up? They've quoted us as spending €45m euros for Lindelof (which is including the €10m potential add ons), but haven't done the same with Liverpool and Salah. I thought Salah cost €42m rising to €50m, which would be £36.9m rising to £43.9m.

Was Linedlöf 40m pounds?
